So every team should just lay down? Did teams just quit when the bulls were dominating in the 90s? Fuck that shit. Go at them. If we die we die.

No i dont mean that, but why add a 32 year old thats expiring? Just doesnt make sense for me

I mean it doesn't make sense to me either, but Houston will have to send out salary to make a Melo trade work and the knicks sure won't take ariza.

Ariza would be perfect starter at the three. I still hate him for what he did to Rudy but I think he would fit really well. He will probably go to NY tho, if he does get traded

Ariza does not move the needle... only Ryan Anderson changes the dynamic of this team... Ariza is mediocre and past his prime... Ryan Anderson is the best stretch 4 in NBA, 6'10, with Dame's range, and is in his prime... Ariza is a downgrade from Harkless

Ariza would just be a throw in. I think in that scenario Gordon would be the "prize"

Do people not get that the next two NBA championships will be won by GS? Ariza will be long gone before we begin contending
You learn most during adversity. A wily vet like Ariza could help teach Dame/CJ/Nurk/etc how to get better in the Playoffs.

IMO we should be looking to move Crabbe, Davis, Vonleh, and maybe Meyers.

Davis and Vonleh will be free agents after this season. I don't want to pay them.

Crabbe and Meyers are overpaid and not necessary anymore.

Ageee with most of this. While crabbe is overpaid, his shooting is still vital, especially with a second unit filled with non shooters.

The only needle Ryan Anderson is moving is the one Blazer fans everywhere inject into their veins as they become hopeless blubbering junkies on account of having to watch him play for their team.

Yeah it's gonna suck watching one of our role guys hit an open shot.

I wish that Morey was forced to give up Gordon. I'd be happy with something along the lines of this:

Portland: Send out Crabbe/Harkless/Leonard; Receive Anderson/Shumpert/Cleveland future 1st
Cleveland: Send out Shumpert/future first; Receive Eric Gordon
New York: Send out Carmelo; Receive Crabbe/Harkless
Houston: Send out Anderson/Gordon; Receive Carmelo/Leonard

The New York backcourt gets crowded with the Tim Hardaway contract, but they can surely play the rookie, Crabbe and Hardaway Jr., especially if Crabbe logs some minutes at 3. They probably look to dump Courtney Lee too, and maybe in a permutation could also send Lee to Houston and take back Leonard instead of Houston.

We cut $10M in salary for this year, next year Shumpert is an expiring, and probably end up shopping Vonleh for an asset. In the meantime, our rotation could look something like this:

Lillard/McCollum
McCollum/Shumpert
Aminu/Turner
Anderson/Vonleh
Nurkic/Davis

This reminds me of the rumors about how we were gonna trade for Okafor, but Neil was using that to drive up the price on Denver. Maybe Neil is trying to get Cleveland to up their offer to New York.

41.8% shooting last year and 39.1% in the playoffs. 28.3% from deep.

I fear some people might have Ryan Anderson confused with prime Dirk Nowitzki.

Anderson's overall FG% is skewed because such a high percentage of them are 3 point attempts. He was over 40% from 3.

His effective FG% (eFG%) was 55% last year (a mark Dirk has never reached), which puts him in the top 30 or so in the league and he was top 10 in 3's made per game.

You can knock him for some things but not shooting.

While it's not the worst thing in the world to trade Maurice (maybe he wanted to be traded), the whole concept of getting players who share Damian's (and CJ's) timeline seems to be contradicted, if the main piece back is Anderson.

If this move is made, this organization confuses the fuck out of me. pisses me off just thinking of getting Ryan Anderson and getting rid of harkless

Well. Technically Lillard is from 90. So Anderson (88) is closer to Dame's timeline than Harkless (93). Not that I would agree with this trade. But it isn't contradictory with the timeline theory.
