I can see the Pacers pulling the trigger on that as they have nothing to lose after next season, but I can't see the Bulls helping Cleveland like that when they don't really have to trade JB.

The stories are similar in the two cities. Talk that the player might be moved.

The Bulls desperately need a superstar level player in return. We've seen that Love can put up huge numbers on a bad team; he'd be a perfect fit there.

Two other guys I like on the Bulls are Mirotic and Portis. For a team that really needs youth, the Bulls feel they've squandered their chances to build an up and coming roster. Both these guys are considered a disappointment in Chicago. Mirotic is a head case. somewhat. Portis couldn't earn time there, no matter how good he played. Denzel Valentine had a bust of a rookie year, compared to how he was hyped there.

The thing is, I don't see anything we have that would appeal to the Bulls for any of these guys, outside of CJ and Nurk.

If there were any way the Blazers could add Portis to Dame/CJ/Nurk, that would be a move I could absolutely get behind

D'oh!! You had to ruin it, didn't you?

You think the Pacers want to build around Love or get 3-4 1st round picks?

Well, the Bulls have Butler at SF, so giving up one of our SFs wouldn't be a big win for them.

Their only 2 PFs are Mirotic and Portis, but I don't see any of our PFs being seen as an upgrade (or enough of one).

I almost think Crabbe might be of some interest to them, but not in return for the players they'd have to send to match the contract. Had Wade not opted in, then their interest might be significant.

3-4 first round picks would be the smart move for sure. Really my take was that the Pacer-Cavs trade has a chance to occur, while the Bulls trade does not.

Peak value for most of these draft picks is right before the draft if the past has been any indication.

This is true. The hype machine is at it's peak right before the draft. I know I get a little geeked up on draft day and then the day after the realization sets in that they all need to get a lot better before they can help us.

I don't think there's a chance in hell KP trades PG for Love.

If the cost is Crabbe/Leonard/15, the age is 28, and the defense is better than that of the players we'd be giving up, how could defense, cost and age be arguments against trading for Love? If it makes us better, which it would, then it's worth a look.
Clearly depends on what's going out. If we shed bad contracts, and improve the team, it's hard to say no. But I'd just prefer some defense, since that is currently, IMO, the team's biggest playoff weakness.

Everyone has their own preference... I have the same yuck reaction to Isaac... at the end of the day tho I trust whoever Neil drafts... he has a good eye for young talent.
At the end of the day, I trust the Blazers statistical analytics nerd guy. Seen him in photos, don't know his name.

Would you guys give up all three picks if it meant Isaac?
Yes. As is the case with most rookies, he may not help us a lot next year, but he certainly would be a nice building block for 2-3 years down the road.

But my guess is that he's going within the first 6 picks. I doubt anyone in the top 6 would go for that deal. We might have to sweeten the deal and toss in Leonard. :)

It really is odd how quiet it is with Markkanen.

Has he even had one pre-draft workout with anyone? I haven't heard anything.

Markkanan is the real deal... he is the best shooter in the draft and his shot is unblockable. The problem is people here automatically discount him because of Meyers... but one has nothing to do with the other. This guy will be the next Dirk. Mark my words.

I read really good things about him....most compared him to a young Dirk so I can see how Stotts would like a guy like him. I haven't seen him play though.

He is perfect for Stotts system... will open up the paint for Nurkic to beast on people, and driving lanes for Dame and CJ...
