Fucking garbage! The ONLY way I could conceivably on-board with trading for Melo is if we're trading Turner or Crabbe AND Meyers for him. If we're not dumping at least one of Turner/Crabbe, while taking back salary, then any trade is a non-starter. Turner/Crabbe have to go before we take back anyone that's not on a rookie contract.
Now about Melo. I am somewhat intrigued with him at PF. Offensively he'd obviously be a huge improvement over Vonleh. But Vonleh is our best defender at PF, and 2nd best defender overall. I think Vonleh's defense is probably more valuable than adding another scoring option when we have Dame/CJ/Nurk who should be getting the lion's share of the shots. Also, let's not forget that Nurkic was finding Harkless on all his cuts to the basket, and opening up wide-open 10' jumpers for Vonleh. I think that what we already have is better than what we would have after the trade - and we'd keep our draft pick!
