Should the Blazers puruse Carmelo Anthony?

Im gonna have to create some fake outrage when Anthony is traded to Houston.

It's gonna be hard, since I'm not expecting him to be traded to Portland, but I'm going to give it the old college try.
 
If he still feels that way after Damian and CJ have reached out to him, then I'm sure we'd all love to see that instead of "facts" from earlier in the week.

I got the ESPN notification too and thought "welp, there goes the fun". Then the quote was literally what Woj said yesterday.

ESPN is stupid. The gave me a notification talking about Lillard and CJ recruiting Melo, then at 9:00pm tonight, sent me a notification of one of their writers repeating Woj's quote from yesterday, as if it Carmelo's still disinterested after Lillard's and CJ's recruiting pitch, when in actuality we have no idea if they swayed Melo or not.

Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum told reporters on Wednesday at Lillard’s basketball camp that they believe Carmelo Anthony is interested in joining the Blazers based on conversations they’ve had with the Knicks star.

But that may not be totally true.

Sources told the Daily News that Anthony is not ready to expand the teams he is willing to waive his no-trade clause for beyond the Rockets or Cavaliers.

One league source familiar with the Anthony talks said the Knicks haven't discussed with the 15-year vet the prospect of expanding his wish list but that the Blazers are "positioned well if he does."

I've never been a big Melo fan. If we get him, it will be a fun experiment and at least we can say a big name player forced his way to Portland. If we don't get him, I'm not going to cry myself to sleep. I'm not a Rocket's fan for fuck's sake!

Of course, the real reason I want to get him is too see the meltdown at clutchfans. It will be epic.

As long as HOU doesn't get him, I'll be happy. He can stay in NY, go to CLE or even end up in GSW for all I care. They're going to win anyway. Might as well let them royally fuck HOU in the process.

If we stand pat I believe we still have better team than a very gutted team like Houston. They over use harden last year and he ran out of gas. Cp3 if runs to many minutes he likely will be on the injury list. Now Melo to me if he gets to Houston then they will have to gut the team more.
 
People are getting too hyped on the Melo train right now, yeah it's dope dame and cj are in his ear but that quite honestly doesn't mean much unless we know exactly what Melo said back. CJ did say he would talk to Melo tomorrow when he goes to new york, they have the same trainer and everything but still without knowing what Melo is saying back who knows

I am half positive and half negative with this Melo to Portland thing. We never land these deals so who is to say we get this one. However I do think we have the most to offer and pieces New york actually wants. Is it worth it to give up Moe and whoever else for a rental possibly?

Before Dame or C.J. even reached out to Melo. Again, no new news in that tweet. Which makes it useless. The whole point of Twitter is timeliness.
