So all this recent chatter brought on a few phone calls of inquiry. Here is a brief summary:

'Melo won't be back in NY so it's up to him to figure out where he is willing to go. HOU is such a long-shot at this point because they just don't have the pieces that NY wants. There are a couple of other teams interested but POR would seem to be able to put together the best package that would still leave the core in tact and not gut it just to make the exchange thereby making the team a contender.

When Carmello and his camp finally come to the realization that HOU isn't going to happen, things could happen quite quickly. POR doesn't get much of a chance nationally but they (IMO) have the best shot to put together a deal once HOU being out of the picture becomes a reality.

Do you think Melo would resign (new contract), opt in, or opt out to go with the boater?

Personally I think no matter where Melo is he's going to opt in.
I just don't believe he's going to turn down all that money.
If he was willing to do that. He'd already be in Houston.

I don't miss him at all.
I like @Chupacabra because he showed that when he's wrong, he's not going to keep beating the horse like @Superbeard did.
Don't ever go full KS @Chupacabra stay as you are and you'll always be welcomed on s2 by myself.
If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. No sense arguing. Facts are hard to dispute. Everyone has a different opinion. That's one reason I like coming here. You guys are believe you have as much a chance to get Melo as Clutchfans think they have. Its good to get both sides. The truth is usually somewhere in the middle.

James Harden and Chris Paul are frauds. Chris Paul has never gotten to the conference finals in his 12 year career, and he chokes in the playoffs every year just like Harden. James Harden and Chris Paul are floppers, and they both get exposed in the playoffs when refs stop calling their BS.

2012: Harden choked in the Finals when he played for OKC while Durant averaged 32/6 on 55/40/84 splits, and Westbrook averaged 27/7/7. Harden was nowhere to be seen.

2013: Harden choked in the first round against a team missing Westbrook.

2014: Harden choked in the first round losing the first two games at home to the Blazers. Harden had an extremely inefficient series.

2015: Harden choked again. Harden got benched in a elimination game in the previous round and needed Josh Smith/Corey Brewer/Dwight to save him. Then in the next round against the Warriors, the Rockets lost by 35 at home in game 3 and Harden was terrible. Harden broke the record for most turnovers in a playoff game ever in game 5, and the Rockets were eliminated.

2016: Harden choked against a team missing Curry (back to back league MVP).

2017: Harden choked against a team missing Kawhi and Parker. Harden lost by 39 points at home in game 6 to a Spurs team missing Kawhi and Parker and got eliminated. Harden had 3 times as many turnovers than field goals made in game 6. Harden lost at home by 39 points to a team missing a consensus top 5 player and best 2 way player in the league. After the game, 5 Hall of Fame players said Harden quit.

Since 2013, Harden has gotten to play against teams missing Curry, Kawhi, Westbrook, and Parker in the playoffs. Harden has lost 3 series since 2013 while having a sizable injury advantage. Simply put, James Harden is a perennial postseason choker. The two perennial chokers of this generation are teaming up. Lebron (3 rings, 4 MVPs, 3 Finals MVPs), Curry (2 rings, 2 MVPs), Durant (1 ring, 1 Finals MVP, 1 MVP), Kawhi (1 ring, 1 Finals MVP), and Westbrook (1 MVP) all have 1 or more of the following: championship ring, Finals MVP, MVP. James Harden and Chris Paul have never won anything. They are frauds.

The Rockets are also coached by all time postseason choker Mike Dantoni.

Carmelo will have made roughly 230 million dollars in salary over his career after this upcoming season. I think I saw his first shoe deal after the draft was 6 years, 18 million total. I would think it's safe to say that at least doubled after that deal was over. That gets him at ~280 million on just shoe and salary. Over 14 years, I'd be willing to guess he's added at least 20 million in other endorsement deals. He's made close to 300 million dollars in his career. I don't think that last big 28 million dollar pay day will hold as much value as opting out and potentially playing with friends, or in a better chance of winning(if he were to stay in NY this season).

That's not even remotely true. We believe we can make a better offer but I don't think anyone here is convinced it will happen.

My thought is he goes with friends. Money is made. Time to play with friends and see what havoc they can create.

Sure.
But I can't ignore the history Melo has shown his entire career. He cares more about the $$ than he does the W.

Melo will opt in with Portland, then we will sign Lebron with whatever MLE we have available :D.

Wade will sign to be 6th man for the minimum.

Cp3 will be the only banana boat guy alone :(

lol. so why so many have accounts there? Just to ease drop and dare I say ... troll?

It's hard to post facts over there as many don't care about facts.
If you don't think Har_en is the best thing ever and the NBA has it in for the Rockets. You get yelled @ over there.
Which leads to trolling yes.
