Kinda feels like teams are over bidding for a one year rental. NY is going to cash in with some team.
 
Kinda disappointing that the best case scenario is that we are the, "Well... I guess so" option. I imagine his reception at Moda will be interesting...

Motivates them to do what? leave? because they can't get others to help. Imagine if Nurk played here like he did in Denver, that shit would of never happened. Was luck. Nobody wants to come here and it's just frustrating but a reality for blazer fans. Luckily Dame and CJ were drafted.

I have been the biggest proponent of Melo to the Blazers... but man, he finally expands his list and Portland not on it... after all of Dame and CJ's recruiting efforts. Disappointing is an understatement.

That's what I mean, it's one thing if we were on the list but he didn't actually end up coming here but we just weren't on the list after hardcore recruiting from our two stars, it's just sad

So if neil loses out to okc TWICE for high quality trade candidates does that mean he is just an average GM? He's not bad but at the end of the day he cant convince anyone we're worth a damn except Paul Allen.
 
Melo knows if Portland is on his list the Knicks will just pull the trigger. Neither Cleveland or OKC will get Melo and he knows that. It's just more smoke.
 
In theory, Westbrook/PG13 is better than Dame/CJ...... but they also have no assets to trade. They have no bench.

Unfortunately I think they too will break at some point. Why would you want to spend your career on a perennial 7 seed when year after year all teams around you are getting better. Fuck man, the lakers are going to lap us again for the second time. Shit is predictable and tiresome. It's getting g really hard to keep giving my time, money and emotions.

What is Neil supposed to do when one GM hates his team, and the other GM can only trade the player to teams that the player approves of?

I put the PG trade more so on kevin pritchard, that was just a bad move on his part. Not sure you can do much about this either because it's all up to Melo, he holds the cards because of the NTC. However this offseason really showed the fuck ups of Neils offseason last year. It was just so fucking bad, I don't believe a word that comes out of his mouth, I am so tired of trying to believe Meyers will be better year after year and whatever. He did good right after LA left but last offseason was just so horrible

That's what freaks me out, especially since they have been so much more vocal this offseason about getting help. Fucking CJ said he would of even taken LA back when those rumors circulated. Luckily they have a few years left on extensions but man if this shit can't turn around in a few years, I think they are gone

isnt his job tho to convince people otherwise? He's supposed to be our recruiter, the guy who sells the culture and opportunities from playing here. So far we have not a whole lot to show from his efforts outside the draft/nurk trade.

I obviously don't think we are winning a title with the warriors there and the team we have, I hope swanigan is good and collins can be something but both these offseasons have been a fail. You can't tell me they aren't.

What were you expecting out of this off-season? Collins and Swanigan could both be great and thks would be viewed as a great off-season. There's no basis to the argument that this off-season is a failure and youre only saying do because you're freaking out about this Melo thing. Relax.

Melo is/was our best chance of being really interesting this year. He makes us a significant contender, even more so than OKC or Houston IMO. It's not unreasonable to be unsatisfied with Vonleh, Aminu, Lenoard, Davis, PF rotation it's one of the worst PF position groups in the NBA.
