Bonding with teammates became one coping mechanism. Henderson and Walker were fast friends, and shopping buddies. Last week, when the Hornets were in Oklahoma City, Walker texted Henderson -- currently rehabbing from an Achilles tear he suffered a few months ago, and hasn't disclosed until now -- to reminisce about the time they stayed so late in an Oklahoma City mall, they found themselves locked inside after closing. (A maintenance worker let them out around midnight.)
Thats not how that reads to me. Since it was an article from a month ago. It said he met with Henderson in OKC which makes perfect sense because they played in OKC november 23rd. I couldnt find anything else about Henderson either but, it reads to me like Henderson has the achilles issue. That was referring to Kemba Walker injuring his achilles back in 2014. Nothing anywhere regarding Henderson having an injury with his achilles.

The article makes it sound like it happened in a work out to a guy who wasnt under contract to play and had been out of the NBA for a year. I agree in part but I also dont think theres an article for every injury in that situation. If he was still an NBA player we’d know. That could be part of why no one seems interested in signing him though. There is zero info on any achilles injury to Henderson. That would have likely had a few articles available if it indeed happened recently. I just think it might be a poorly written article.

I really liked Henderson, played smart but with good energy. You missed my amended post, but in today's multi media craze it still seems strange no articles. Hoopshype has had all sorts of articles on ex players all the time and with Henderson looking to get back in the NBA it would seem like a logical reason for an update on this sort of thing. Too bad for Henderson as I really liked him when he was here. If he hadn't had the hip surgery, it wouldn't have surprised me that Olshey would have gone after him instead of Stauskas. Hopefully he can recover in get back in the game.
Henderson has essentially missed two years and is in his 30s. Good for him if he gets another chance in the nba, but I wouldn’t bet on it.
Grant Hill?
Henderson just turned 31 so if he can get himself healthy sometime this year or in the off season, no reason he can't play a few more years.
Henderson was never anything more than a fringe starter. I doubt anyone in the league is keeping tabs on him. Guys like him get forgotten about quick. Take Afflalo for example. And he’s not coming off a hip replacement or whatever Henderson had.

Teams are always looking for veterans, especially at the vet minimum so the market is there and Henderson is a high IQ type player similar to a Trevor Ariza.
I think there is. His phone beeps because someone on S2 is thinking about him.Every time this gets bumped I think there's an update on him lol.
And you know this how? Nobody in this forum would know what teams are looking for.Teams aren’t looking for 31 year olds that haven’t played in two years, especially not in the middle of a season.
Are you saying the people on this site don't know exactly what is going on with everything in the NBA?And you know this how? Nobody in this forum would know what teams are looking for.

I'm Shocked! Shocked i tell ya.
I read comment after comment on S2 that tells me exactly What Stotts and Olshey are thinking. They absolutely cannot be wrong. Certainly about where Melo will end up. Obviously beings this thread has 484 pages and counting.
Some are sitting there wondering..... Hmmm. Is he talking about me?lol, I wish I could have given you 10 likes on that post.

Because he’s sitting on the street. Next question.
Someone tell Gerald the NBA is looking for him.
why do you make shit up? Nobody said the NBA is looking, but I can pretty much guarantee you that there are teams monitoring his situation.. And working on a game broadcast is hardly a death to never playing again. I don't know if he will or not, but you certainly don't either. If this is going to be your way of discussing things then I am outa this discussion.
The Blazers need ... drumroll please ... Carmelo Anthony. Portland has had its struggles with bench scoring. If Anthony is fine with the role, he could fit the bill as the Blazers' leading scorer off the bench and take pressure of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum. The problem is, however, that Melo turned down the Blazers twice previously. -- Spears
