It isn’t good when it’s a bait and switch, do you understand that?

Is a carrot good???!!!! Answer meeee!!!! Do you hate carrots?!?!?!

Yes it’s good, until it gets tied to a string.
What was the switch? What got worse due to Obamacare?

The problem is the notion that Obamacare in any way 'fixed' our healthcare system, it's slightly better and slightly worse than what we had in place before but it was sold as "FIXING THE SYSTEM" not just plugging one small hole in the boat while another one opened up. It's the same with the "FREE COLLEGE" plan, Uncle Joe slashing peoples student loans look great on paper but don't get to the root cause of anything. I want someone in office that can actually fix the problems, not just put band aids over gushing wounds but so far neither political party has figured out a way to do that because they are both beholden to the same lobbyists while the general masses fight over trivial matters.

I agree it didn't fix the system. But it made it significantly better. Eliminating the pre-existing conditions and lifetime cap options to deny care were huge. Incredibly huge. Monumental.

Requiring a minimum level of coverage also was a huge improvement. Now lower priced HSAs require that a minimum level of preventive care is given. That's a huge, huge win.

What part was made worse?

Citizens United. We must find a way to mitigate the impacts of this ruling. Unfortunately this will not be happening over the next 4 years.

Fixing the problems for you is not necessarily fixing the problems for someone else.

My guess is Trump repeals the ACA (even though it has become much more popular since inception and has bipartisan support). He eliminates the lifetime benefit limit ban. He lowers premiums in doing so. But more people end up bankrupt because of the rise in cancer diagnoses and are kicked off their plans for reaching benefit limits.

But hey, for a year or two He gets to parade around as a savior for saving people a little bit of money that were on obamacare.
Maybe I'm too cynical and I'm glad the lifetime coverages are gone but for all the good the ACA did, there is plenty wrong with it and it didn't get to the root of the issue for a lot of people and that's continuing to see sky high premiums.

No, you just attack people in here every day with your arrogance and your pompousness. You pretend to ride the middle ground and no one is buying it.
Why are you interested in gatekeeping where people stand politically on here? Why are you being the judge of that? And why don’t you address anything i actually say?

Remember too that the ACA was crippled at birth by the republicans demanding concessions that basically ensured it didn't work as designed. And EVEN THEN it's so much better than what we had.

100%. Absolutely

And I still have yet to hear from anybody how it's worse than what we had before.

Like it was some bait and switch that we had to give up a bunch of something... Nobody knows what

I wonder if people are actually nostalgic for the early 2000s when companies were slightly less shitty to their employees, and are conflating that with ACA's effect.

It didn't fix the system, yep. And agree that it helped tremendously.

And it saved my life. So fuck everyone for trying to get rid of it because you're not compassionate or empathetic and got brainwashed by equal idiots.

I'll just add that if anyone is holding out for a perfect solution to healthcare (or any other issue) you have a very long wait ahead of you.

Small gains are better than no gains at all.

Health insurance doesn’t ‘save people’s lives’. It isn’t healthcare. Hospitals treat patients whether they have insurance or not.

I'm certainly glad it was there to save your life. I hope everything is back to normal now?

If hospitals won't touch you because your health insurance won't cover the procedure you require, then yes, absolutely health insurance saves lives.

Not only that, prevention saves lives. Prevention improves lives.

Access to health care (health insurance) saves and improves lives. And it's far less expensive than treating the symptom.

Yeah, I think the Democrats are getting "small gained" to death at this point...

Cool.

Thanks for minimizing it to fit your narrative. It saved my life. Fuck whatever shit you ever want to fucking say about it. Not surprised though, given you don't care about anyone's rights but your own.

Don't ever fucking minimize anyone again.

Fuckity fuck fuck fuck tough guy. Shutup.

I'm not.

I'm tired of people being condescending and pretentious. It's just so disingenuous.

If your posts weren't full of the above maybe I and others would actually respond to you and have conversations with you because at times there are sensible things and the dribble.

Lol. Imagine someone saying "it didn't save your life" when I didn't have crippling debt that paid the doctors who helped me.

The doctors helped me, yes. But the insurance saved my life because it made it so I didn't have to fret.

It's really basic. But people who don't care about humans minimize all their experiences because they are heartless.

Thank God I'm a human who doesn't minimize people's experiences.

Saved mine too. Wouldn't have been able to get surgery without it.

Imagine actively hating that humans have a right to health insurance even if they don't have a job.

IMAGINE PEOPLE LIVING BECAUSE OF HEALTHCARE COSTS NOT HAVING TO HIT THEIR POCKETBOOKS AND INSTEAD CAN LIVE A BETTER QUALITY OF LIFE.

Utterly pathetic there's humans that hate helping other humans for no reason other than hate.

Fuck. All. The. Way. Off.

Of course they are. Because that's what governing in this country is all about, incremental changes.

And people get impatient and say that they need to be doing more, that offering incremental positive change isn't good enough.

Yeah you’re way off the rails on this one. Never said any of that nor do i believe it. Control your emotions.

It's working out great

I’ve said plenty of times right here on this forum that i support simgle payer healthcare or medicare for all. Still do. I also speak out against all these wars that cost trillions.

It’s almost like if one went away the other would be possible. Yall seem to like the wars too much though, or at least support the clowns behind them so what’s one to do? I’d suggest riding someone else’s ass about it instead of the guy in the basketball forum. Maybe people should quit celebrating the peanuts that get chucked spitefully at their foreheads and start demanding something more with their tax dollars instead of 3rd world healthcare with a few useless concessions.

Yes, impatience is working out just great. It's as effective as ignorance and ill-intent at destroying the country.

One doesn't really have anything to do with the other. It's not either-or, we can also do both or neither.
