The US can protest it to have it reversed after the match, which would allow Bradley to play in the final if we make it past Spain. Otherwise, he's suspended for the next match in this tournament.

There is no question that should be challenged. US is just hunkering down right now in stoppage

And BOOM goes the Dynamite......Landon Donovon was amazing out there.

It's 5 steps below making a WC Final. This isn't even close to the 1980 USA/USSR team for me.

I disagree. You might not have watched their matches vs. Italy and Brazil, but the US side looked HORRIBLE. Looked like a team that idn't even belong on the world stage.

The turnaround, including the Egypt game.... unbelievable.

Tim Howard was a beast today, he was under attack in the second half but made great decisions.

It looks like the US won. The entire country of Spain is going to be bummed.

I watched them all. I just don't see Spain as being at the level of the USSR hockey team in 1980, and this isn't even the World Cup, while the 1980 game was in the Olympics.

That said, a great (and surprising) result. Best US win I have ever seen on the pitch, period.

I'll bet Rudy is a little bummed right now.

Well glad to be wrong on that one. Howard played HUGE

Wonder if we'll move up in the world rankings after this tourny? Anyone know how the rankings work?

Um, I think they'll be a little bit more than bummed! Football is life in Spain.

Anyway, fantastic result for US--this is great news for the popularity of soccer in the States. Now they should have a pretty solid fan base going into the final.

I didn't get to watch the game, but I'll try and watch the replay tonight. Sounds like Spain didn't show up because on their day, this game should of been comfortable. They could of beaten any team in the world last week, but I think this put the wind out of their sails. Good luck in the finals!

Who else is left Brazil & South Africa?

the US looked horrible against brazil.

the US did not look horrible against italy. what game were you watching? they played evenly with italy until clark's bullshit red, then actually took control of the game for 10ish minutes, and then wore down in the 2nd half when they'd be playing with 10 men for the majority of the game. nothing horrible about it than the final score, but that wasn't really indicative of the game and has to be looked at in the context of one team having to play 60 minutes with 10 men for a card they didn't deserve.

You were obviously robbed against Italy.

Australia were cheated too when Grosso dived in the box to get a penalty in the dying moments of the match.

It looked like he might have come in with two feet on the tackle.
it was a terrible call. worse than either of the other reds the US has gotten. the first two reds i felt legitimately deserved yellow cards. this red seemed like just a foul or possibly no call at all because spain still had possession of the ball.

They had tons of chances dude. Great defense and goaltending from the US kept the ball out of onion bag. The start of the second half was crazy. It was 15 minutes of constant attacking from Spain. The Brazil game should be interesting! I won $5 on the game btw:)

I recorded the game. I will go take another look at it.

The way the rankings work are fucking awful. I don't think anyone knows how they truly function (joke).

It sort of works like a league. For a win the nation get three points, a draw they get one point, and nothing for a loss. Then there are added points for the importance of a game. I think cup games are an extra four points (per win), and a friendly is just an extra point. They also average in a lot of things such as the strength of the opposing side (they use some sort of formula to calculate extra points for beating the number one seed--Which would be Spain), and amount of matches per year.

It seems pretty good on paper, but sometimes you're left thinking, "How the fuck are Netherlands 2nd?"

Here are the current rankings--I don't know if its been updated since today's win.

it said last update was 3 June, next was 1 July. So I doubt it.

Don't let that American arrogance seep through! :P

Just kidding, man. Sounds like you played your heart out and it seems like it was a deserved win. Once again, good luck in the finals and don't spend the fiver all at once! :)

alright, not a good call. the only arguement you could make was that his foot was up on the play. Maybe a yellow. Do they overturn red cards on reviews?

The nation can appeal with Fifa but they generally never erase the punishment but they may shorten it. Good luck with that.

oh I won't:) The last two games have been damn impressive though.
I won $10 from the same person during the NBA finals. He wanted to do $10 on this game and I was said no way, they've won 35 straight games! Oh well:)
