There is NO Leadership within the Portland Trail Blazers

It starts with the owner, it includes the Vulcans, it flows through the executive management of the Blazers, and it includes all of the coaches and players. There are just NO leaders anywhere! This is the problem I see with the team. Nobody holds anyone accountable. It's ridiculous. I believe the team has the talent to be competitive in the league, but it doesn't have the drive, desire, and work ethic. I am disgusted with the organization right now. I hope things change.

Exactly! I want something to cheer for. If we lose but it looks like we are trying, then I'm totally fine with it. If management wants to rebuild, than shiy or get off the pot and do something about it. The oden fiasco sums up the entire story. Left in the dark until you can't hide it anymore, then come up with some bullshit excuse why it had to be that way. No accountability.

No a loser mentality is watching this blazer team not giving a shit on the court. Fuck yeah I would rather have us win games, but if we are going to lose, we better be playing our hearts out. Did you watch the game last night? Fucking embarrassing! We were playing like shit and the players looked as though it was no big deal. That's a fucking loser mentality!

I believe the original poster has made an excellent point. The leader on a team is often the point guard and we have not had a leader there for a long, long time.
Otherwise the leader is often a star player and it's unfortunate that our star is not capable of being that. As i have said in another post this is partly the responsibility of those who draft and trade for players; not able to find a true leader.
The point about work ethic rings true, especially when you think about how Felton came to shape so out of shape, and I'm not really sure about Wallace's conditioning and work in the weight room.
I do think some of the players like Wallace still have the drive but they are a little discouraged because they aren't being put in position to succeed offensively by the coaching staff. I also have the impression that Bill Bayno is really missed; the developmental coaches seem to be working with the younger players but the older players also need to continuously practice things like finishing at the basket. Well, again, that is a problem of leadership; where is the strong GM to oversee things like this?

Batum is easily my favorite player on this team but I am getting so frustrated with this team that I am getting closer and closer to being willing to part with him in the deal that brings us that quality of PG. And I am both sad and pissed off that I feel that way.

totes agree, this is part of the reason i was hoping for a player/person of steve nash's calibre - not just for the skills but for the veteran undisputed leadership and, ultimately, advice. i mean, if someone like nash comes in and says x,y,z about the player config, the mentality etc you'd be inclined to listen and take his word - to be honest i dont believe any of the generic bullshit that comes out of this team anymore, nobody owns up, nobody assumes responsibility and commits to righting the ship, nobody is pulling the team together in the locker room either - fuck, they arent even pulling themselves together.

bad performances and heartlessness is one thing - but the yellow colored dog shit excuses everyone is trying to pass off as gold is a huge disappointment to me. to be honest, i think i've lost the ability to 'believe' in them at this point, just feels like a sham.
