Can you imagine the immediate outrage, calls for resignation, protests, anger, marches etc if this was a conservative? The amount of double-standard will be interesting to see in the next few days.

I watched the interview and it's obvious she's poking fun at the interviewer's mistake. Did you see this in context of the interview? Right before she says this she talks about the democratic party being very diverse and she doesn't want to paint any group with a broad brush. I'd celebrate if I heard a conservative talk like that.

Of course I saw it. But if a conservative were to joke around in that manner, the reaction would have been quite different. I didn't find it funny. Growing up playing basketball on a team of 3 Caucasian kids and the rest being African American, I know they wouldn't have been amused by that either.

Yes, I agree, the rest of the conservatives would lose their freaking minds when the company line was not toed. The ability to read your team mates minds must have made for some great chemistry. Undefeated?

Watched the interview, it was pure racism which I've come to expect from Clinton pretty much any time she speaks to or about any minority. It's not the first time or even the 10th time and it's indefensible by any measure of decency. Hillary Clinton is a horrible, soulless monster.

Next you're going to say that she was kidding when she called half of America deplorable.

Oh, here's another time where she's just having fun with the audience...

Considering most people haven't even heard about this yet, it's a little early to be outragged over the lefts hypocrisy. I think it was a terrible joke, in really bad taste and I condemn her for it. I have a job though so I don't have time to march or protest. I'm also out of anger at the moment, it's all being currently used.

Okay, you're entitled to that opinion but what's the point? She lost and isn't running for office anymore. There are a whole lot of really important things going on and this is just old stuff that has been discussed ad nauseam. She has no power anymore and likely never will again. :deadhorse:

It’s obvious she’s running again and will definitely “win” the primary again.

Weak as she is the DNC has nobody else under their control who stands a chance.

Good Lord... if that happens the Dems deserve to go down in flames!

A very very tiny chance she'll run but if she does, she'll stay in the party.

I've used the same line in what I imagine is the same sarcastic tone. For all I loathe about her, I'm not going to chalk this one up to meaning what people are reading into it.
I don't think she meant anything terrible but the idea that Paul Ryan or someone on the right would be crucified for the exact same thing seems quite obviously true.

This is a STUPID thread. Hillary didn't garner my vote on the last election because of shit like this.

We don't like her. She didn't win. Again, why is this a thread?

If people think she's running, you'll believe anything.

Whether she runs again or not, the coverage regarding what she said is completely different than if a conservative of similar political clout were to say the same thing even if it was in a joking manner.

Ridiculous take. It was clearly sarcastic. Democrats are allowed to joke too...unless Trump has also deemed that verboten? (Sarcasm, see?)

True. What she said, even if it was a joke wasn't just offhanded it was a terribly racist thing to say. I don't support it or tolerate it. If she runs, and I hope she doesn't, she won't have my vote.

After all this talk, I'm going to have to get off my couch and actually see what it is that was so dastardly that she said.

Thanks a lot, I was just going to eat another chocolate bon bon and watch The Days of Our Lives.

I don't get what the big deal is with this. I wouldn't have thought anything of it no matter who said it. Well, maybe if a KKK type or other White Supremacist had said it, I would take offense. But clearly, it was only intended as a joke.

I think the whole big deal can be summed up as some people just hate Hillary because that's what they've been taught over and over and over again.

Sure, because some conservatives have a nasty habit of actually being racist. So that makes it harder for conservatives to get away with such jokes.

The Clintons have always been given passes by their devout supporters.
Can you believe that most feminist women would stand in like to here him speak? WOW

I grew up in North Portland man, and some of the most racist people I knew were staunch democrats! they were some of my relatives I'm disappointed & ashamed to say! Theu could have been some of your relatives and friends too. There is enough racism from both sides so don't make it political. Thats part of the problem!

I have friends and family that are republicans too & Lanny, and they are not racist, some of the nicest, humble and giving people I know.
Geez louise.

I was talking politicians, not civilians. Among civilians, there are of course racists on both sides (and you have very fine people, on both sides), but a list of most-racist politicians will have a lot of R's towards the top.
