I think it might be a smart move, if he's trying to communicate something. There are an awful lot of people in this country who would never watch the president make a speech, but will watch whoever is on the Tonight Show.

On the other hand, if he just talks about Jay's car collection and how cold it is in Washington this time of year, then he probably should have used the time to do something useful.

I guess anything he can do to reapply the glossy sheen on "Change" and "Hope" will help him. Too bad, he's not actually interested in understanding the specifics of his policies. Gee, I guess he really is like our previous President in that respect, with Speaker Pelosi being his Vice President Cheney.

Exactly. Pres_ent Celebrity goes on The Tonight Show before he goes on Meet the Press. Just a couple of multi-millionaires yucking it up while the unemployment rate jumps over 8%. Perhaps they'll take in a Laker game as well. That would be swell.

I think that's our point. If Obama is going to appear somewhere, why fly 3,000 miles to do a puff piece? Air Force One costs a lot of money to operate, not to mention the hassle of shutting down Burbank Airport.

It costs less to drive over to the NBC studio in DC for a Meet the Press interview that might actually be informative if the President ditches his trusty teleprompter.

He's not a candidate anymore.

Been there, done that.

He's the President of The United States, and he's trying to prevent the impending collapse of what's left of a once magnificent nation.

I really don't think he's interested in wasting time answering pundit's questions right now.

I think he'll speak about his new citizen service thingamajig, maybe an official launch of it.

I assume he has other Presidential business to conduct while he's in LA.

It's a fairly large town with nearly 50% American Citizenship. :biglaugh:
