This is the final straw....

The connection between a fan who was born in the same city as the team, and a fan who chose that team to follow will never be the same. It's that simple. I was raised as a Blazer fan. It was part of my growth as a person. Coming from Portland where the Blazers are our only team, we have a special connection with the organization. How many cities would mourn the death of a former role player the way that we mourned Jerome Kersey? In the words of Wesley Snipes, "you can't hear Jimmy."
I was raised a Blazer fan as well. Growing up I didn't live in POR but within an hour of it so I could and did make it to games. I consider myself just as big of a fan as someone who is local. I saw Kersey play and (like many fans) loved his energy. I suffered the heartbreak just as much as those who were local when the Trail Blazers suffered the collapse against the L*kers. I went to games then and I still go to one game a year even though I live far away (It may not sound like much but it is something and it isn't all that easy to pull off being far away).

There is no Portland name in my signature picture (and I didn't make it). Does that mean you don't know it is POR? For me the Trial Blazers logo says POR all over it without spelling it out. As I said, I would be more concerned by the colors if I was you (which obviously I am not) than missing the word Portland.

Do you really think I'm talking about someone who was born an hour away?

Seattle is in another state. They had their own team. They are an arch rival in college football and soccer. I find it ridiculous that we are courting a fanbase that used to hate our team.

I'm totally buying this shirt and will put a custom "NateBishop's tears taste so good" on the back in white bold print!

Of course you know the answer to this. Simple economics. Paul Allen isn't going to be around much longer. This team can't pretend it has a Billionaire to fall back on soon. In this (very specific) case I have no problem with it. POR games have been broadcasted to WA households for some time. Where is the uproar on that? I would agree if SEA still had a team or if we were trying to infringe on the GS Warriors area but that is not the case.

The Blazers are the only team for every city in Oregon. I followed them just as fervently as any Portland resident growing up. They were on local radio and local TV.

The jackoffs in Oregon who choose to be Laker fans are the one's "picking" a team to follow.

The Trail Blazers ARE my home team.

Chris Hansen. Then you can start sweating the "POR to SEA" stuff. :MARIS61:

Any real ex Sonics fan would never except the Blazers as a substitute. Just as I will never have anything to do with that egotistical Big Brother that lives up north. The Seahawks are a SEATTLE team. Just like the Sounders are a SEATTLE team. And IDC the Sonics left either. I remember the beatings the Huskies used to give us. Boo hoo!
