Notice This is the worst Blazer team I have seen in my lifetime.

Is that real? I thought 9/10 seed had to be 7/8 seed 2 games to the higher seed’s one win.

"At the conclusion of the regular season, the team with the seventh-highest winning percentage in each conference will host the team with the eighth-highest winning percentage in its conference in a Play-In Game (the “Seven-Eight Game”). The winner of the Seven-Eight Game in each conference will be the seventh seed in the playoffs for its conference.

The team with the ninth-highest winning percentage in each conference will host the team with the tenth-highest winning percentage in its conference in a Play-In Game (the “Nine-Ten Game”). The loser of the Seven-Eight Game will host the winner of the Nine-Ten Game in a Play-In Game, and the winner of that game will be the eighth seed in the playoffs for its conference."

The reality of this season so far is that we have no idea who the best teams are if we're going solely off of records or performance. It takes a little more than just looking at what has happened. We need to be able to look at who is on these different teams and how those personnel combinations go together. In other words, you can't just look at stats right now, you have to use your understanding of the game and what you've learned about all of the players out there.

Our team is going to be very competitive because the offense is going to be great... like it has been for a while. It's also going to perform well because we have the most disruptive defense we've had in decades. RoCo and DJJ are amazing. They both can actually defend 1-5 at an elite level... it's great to see. Nurk will get better on both ends. We have really good bench pieces if they'll play their roles. That being said, we start two guys who are not good defenders and play those two guys more than anyone else. Also two of our main bench players (Melo and Enes) are also definite defensive liabilities. This will prevent us from being an elite defense. Hopefully disruptive is enough because lock down isn't happening.

The rest of the league is like us. You have to look at the rosters and figure out that Milwaukee is still a top two or three team in the East. You have to look at the Lakers and realize that they're still the best in the league despite being tied for the sixth best winning percentage in the league. Miami has the same record as the Knicks, I'm not saying the Heat will make the finals again but they'll make the playoffs and definitely end up with a better record that the Knicks... unless they are decimated by injuries. The point is, any solid conclusion that any of us draw is just pure conjecture but we can look analytically without analytics to make sense of the things that aren't going to end up the way they are now.

So the team with the 7th best record can be ejected from the playoffs by losing a single game???? That's crazy.

EDIT: Oh... no... they have to lose two games I guess. Ok, I guess that's ok.

Could they make it more complicated? Why not have the two higher seeds have to win one game at home or the lower seed has to win two games on the road.

Still 2 games ahead of the real worst Blazer team in history and 13 wins away from clinching at 2nd worst team in history!

Blazers only 1 game out of the #4 Lottery slot. :bgrin:

I don't know if this is the worst team ever, but what I do know is that if they don't start playing better, they aren't a serious contender. Actually, even if they play better, they aren't a serious contender.

We've got a nice BMW M340i. It's not the fastest car on the road but it's pretty nice.

But it's being driven by an 8 year old.

Nah man, it’s being driven by our 90 year old grandpa who nobody wants to take his license away because he’s really nice and nobody wants to drive him around.

This team is simultaneously fucking horrible and also amazing. They went down by 20 twice tonight.

imagine how good we’d be if stotts would stop playing Hood/Melo/Kanter at the same time.

The Blazers are both the worst and best team in my lifetime depending on how drunk I am. I call it the Heineken Uncertainty Principle.

It's impossible to know both the location of despair and velocity of awesomeness simultaneously.

Imagine our mascot under the rim after Nurkic lands on it. The mascot is both alive and dead until you open the boxscore.

it's comical you keep bumping this thread, you looking for attention or what? Go take a walk and step away from your phone/cpu once in a while, it's good for health.

1) This team was playing like the worst blazer team I'd ever seen, for a while.

2) It's a silly thread, but my concern about Robustness is very real. We seem to be bailed out by Dame and CJ putting up astronomical numbers every game - and we're still not blowing teams out. If Dame or CJ becomes injured, we're in serious trouble. We really need to perfect our new defensive system so that Dame or CJ can have an off game, or rest. Until that happens, we are not as Robust as I'd like.

So let's see:

Losses
Utah 7-4 - beat us by 20.
Clippers 8-4 beat us by 23
Warriors 6-6 beat us 15
Chicago 4-7 we gave up a 20 point lead and lost by 3.
Indiana 8-4 beat us by 24.

Wins
Houston 4-6
Lakers 10-3
Warriors 6-6
Minnesota 3-8
Sacramento 5-7
Toronto 3-8
Sacramento 5-7

So we have two actually decent wins against teams without losing records. Meanwhile we have been absolutely obliterated by the Jazz, the Clippers, and Indiana. We have trailed by 20+ against the Jazz, the Clips, the Pacers, the Kings and the Raptors. This team is trash.
