Wemby will win mvp, dpoy, fmvp. Our only chance is if we lamelo or pachulia him. We shouldn't.
Not calling you out in your post, but since you mentioned it…

Not much I dislike more than when people joke about that kind of sh**. It’s actually ridiculous how many people Ive talked to about the series and containing Wemby in the last couple of weeks which casually throw that out there.

If there’s one fan base you would think wouldn’t even joke about that bs…

I like Sprague.

Sprague is ok, tho sometimes he comes off like a negative nancy and he is too much of "temperature of the room". And since the temperature of the room is dominated by Dirt, he comes off as kind of an ass hat (Dusty is a full blown ass hat). He (Dirty) is the kind of Duck fan that makes normal every day Duck fans look bad by association. (Danny is the same way with USC).

I posted this recently in another topic and I tried to find out what's going on with Marang after the episode of RCWU I'm referencing here, but can't find anything on Google....anyone know? He sounded nuts and it was bizarre:

Now you know who is a real POScaster? Danny Marang...with his Jacked Ramsay's podcast that he abandoned long before he got the KATU gig. Also, what was up with him talking about his girlfriend 50 times on the last Rip City Wrap-up? I thought he was married?? Did he get divorced in the last few months and then instantly has a girlfriend that he had to mention 50 times in 30 minutes? That is EPIC levels of sad and cringe. Also constantly saying that she lays hands on him or something all while chomping on Jack in the Box sliders like he's preparing for Armageddon and a world food shortage. Gotta pack on that apocalypse belt around your waist to survive the future wasteland, Danny boy!

You're right, I should have just said, our only chance is if the Spurs is without Wemby.

But the weird thing is, I just realized maybe we shouldn't pencil in the Blazers out, even with Wemby. Because Experience and Deni. Both teams have no playoff experience, but individually, we have the edge. What if Deni was giving us appetizer all season and announce himself as a superstar in this series? I still think their talent and defense prevails but I won't be surprised if we put on a fight.

Rob Will?

Rob has 56 playoff games. That puts our vet total at 188 compared to the Spurs 121.
you're right....forgot about Timelord....yeeeeesh

but Olynyk + Plumlee have totaled 119. They don't play much but they have been in the playoffs

It’s been a great debate thinking about facing the Spurs versus facing the Thunder. On one hand with the spurs the first thing you look at is an overall lack of playoff experience and youth. On the other hand they have a legitimate candidate for the future GOAT.

I agree, this is where guys like Jrue, and yes, Dame - can be big influencers in the series with their veteran leadership and experience. Either reeling things in if it gets out of control, or keeping composure and closing out games.

I would by no means pencil us out. We are about to see what we look like defensively under the microscope of playoff basketball. We shouldn’t forget how defensively efficient this team is capable of being in their own right.

I’m more worried about Wemby on the defensive end than the offensive end. He’s going to get his on offense in ways that nobody in the league can stop. The concern is about his impact on the glass, and protecting the paint.

I think we should use Donovan on high screens like we often do, that he should get 3-4 3pt attempts in the first game at least. Keep Wemby out of the paint and force their smaller back and front court to beat us on the glass. Really any way you can keep Wemby outside of the paint on defense is a plus, but the dude can also recover so quickly, and his length is also ridiculous. He could guard a high screen and a Clingan 3, and also recover to block Deni in the paint.

At the end of it all I’m glad to see us trending in a positive direction. Hope we bring it on the defensive end, because if we play to our potential that is how we will win this series. And I look forward to a playoff series where we see some of the best young talent in the west competing against each other. Two teams you would expect to face each other in the playoffs again down the road with their current trajectories.
