Of course I have to get to the bottom of said page first. Why not just do a browser detect?

We're looking at actual iPhone and Blackberry apps to access S2. More coming on that soon.

But for now, you can scroll down there once and bookmark the archive link, no?

There's an "archive" link at the bottom of any page. Click on that from your mobile device.

The archive shows oldest thread first. I've got some great threads about Sabonis retiring. I can see where you're trying to go, but two things would fix this:

1 - remove the ads from the first post of every page
2 - default the column on the right to closed.

This forum looked great and was very usable as-is on my mobile device before the upgrade.

I hope the ads will be removed today.

We'll look at the stuff on the right.

That link shows the threads in proper order for me (newest on top).

It sure doesn't for me. Here's how my list of posts starts:

# No Posts Yet?!
# Are the Blazers a Contender?
# Any Blazer fans?
# Noone can handle the Blazers
# PIP! HURRY ON BACK!
# Sing along with me....
# What Should we do?
# look alikes in portland
# Roster next season
# Rick Carlisle set to become new Blazers coach...
# Any Predictions in the off-season
# Portland Trading Thread
# Blazers Select New President..
# What's going on with the Portland/Denver Trade
# Randolph or Wallace?

This is why the font is so damn large... Makeing the font huge for everyone... Ugly.12pt font.

While we're on this, why is the first post in every thread set to a certain width?

There's a PDA link on that page that reverses the sort.

It's reserving space for the ad that's not shown to people logged in. As I said, that should be removed today.

Any solution to the lag when using IE?

I don't see any lag with IE, though I think it's obviously important that the site works well with IE... But I'm using IE8

It must be an issue with my work computer because it doesnt happen here at home. Hmmmmmm.

I would also be willing to fork over a $1-$3 for an S2 iPhone app.

Definitely. I'd plop down a couple bucks to have a great S2 app on my iPhone.

Buy 'em up, buy 'em by the cartload. Us moderators are paid out of those revenues. It takes a lot of iPhone apps to pay for these flashy, solid gold cars we're driving around.

Cars? I bought an island... Shit.

I see... cool. Now all I need is the ability to reply. :D

Thanks though.

Try now.
PDA's should now be detected and the site displayed in a low-bandwidth style that allows for posting. Down the road we can customize it further, but this should add functionality and reduce illegible stuff on small screens. Works fine on my Blackjack and wife's iPhone.

Oh jeez... That's horrific. Just remove the ads and default the right column to hidden. That "mobile" solution makes me wish I never had even gotten you guys involved.

LOL

I have to try out the mobile detection stuff on my phone today and see how bad it is ;-)

If we do a mobile app, my hope is that it's free.

What are you running? I can set different templates for different phones. I like the lo-res version functionality-wise on my blackjack. The default style took forever and was absolutely impossible. Given a little time I should also be able to customize it a fair amount.

However, the default actually rendered perfectly on the iPhone, so I guess we could go back to that for iPhones and whatever you're using. I'm working all day today, but hopefully tomorrow or the next day I can spend some more time trying to strike a better balance.

Is there some sort of update I need to get rid of the lag on my work computer?

BULLSHIT! You want another house at the beach!

Yes, it's called having your cheap ass company you work for to finally buy you a MAC!

Yeah, I'm using an iPhone. Thanks for the effort on this!

No problem. OK, iPhone should now display the "normal" front page, but without the sidebar on the right. Can't dig out the ads from the default template though :|

I should be able to dig them out of the mobile template, which, by the way, I made slightly more appealing by making it automatically send you to the forums page instead of forcing the user to click to go there.
