I can’t help but think that the OT Section is pretty much what it’s supposed to be, good, bad or indifferent. If someone gets their tits in an uproar, well that’s what politics (the usual culprit) usually leads to. Let the buyer beware.
But what has really disheartened me is the absolute rude and obnoxious bullshit that happens in the Main Section. A person can’t make a simple observation or voice a basic opinion about sports without getting lit up by about 4-5 “experts” who think they know everything there is to know about the game of basketball (and who usually come off sounding like nothing more than pompous asses). I mean Jeezus, when a guy like
@Boob-No-More, one of the more knowledgeable, reasonable and personable (to name a few “ables”) posters gets run off because some jackwads think they are somehow experts, then this place needs to be fumigated. And the saddest part is that the biggest problems don’t see themselves as that at all.
I don’t mind being told I’m full of shit when it comes to politics because politics is entirely full of shit anyway. But when I”m reluctant to talk about something I actually know something about just because some asshole is going to slam me in order to make themselves feel more important, then fuck it. Then it’s time to start pulling back......
