Well, some people are just lucky. It's a matter of fact.

Donald Trumps kids are lucky that their father is rich. The person who dies at 29 from an un-diagnosed brain clot isn't lucky.

Luck does play a small part in successful people. But it also takes hard work, determination, responsibility, ambition, strength, sacrifice etc. So if thats really what he said, its foolish. I dont trust the media though. Would need to see a video of him saying it to get the context.

They know exactly what he said, and they know exactly why they worded it the way they did. they'd get a reaction out of knuckle draggers, mouth breathers and morons.

? you do realize I'm talking about the people who make a big stink about anything he says, misquote him, misrepresent what he says/does in order to get a response from the people with the characteristics I listed, right?

you're using a very narrow definition of "luck".

knowing the right person is lucky. getting a teacher who inspires you can be luck. having a parent who can afford to bail you out of jail/save your butt when you do something stupid is luck.

And if you are correct, that is a ridiculous thing to tell people. Your life hinges on luck, if you have success you are lucky. If you have a hard time it's not your fault, your just unlucky. Geez, that is really ignoring the work the individual must do, lucky enough to be inspired or not. Work, study and then more is the way. I don't even see what he gets out of saying stuff like this now. Before his second term, he got votes. Who does this help now?

I agree with a lot of his statement. There are people who by no fault of their own, will never succeed by societies standards for a number of circumstances. Bad Timing, Lack of Education, Mental Illness, No Social Skills.... you name it. For every person that succeeds in life, there are thousands that don't. Success is provided as much by the the labor of those who fail as by individual accomplishment. That's why empathy is so important. And to define your value of success by your own standards and rules.

The other part that doesn't seem right it is the making an issue on Blackness and being African American. If a powerful man were to speak to white kids about how to feel about whiteness, being Caucasian Americans, the wrath of hell would descend. It seem like a continuing divisiveness to me.

Not an Obama fan. But I am even less of a fan of irresponsible clowns that misuse the power they have to miss-inform the general public to push THEIR agenda.

The real danger here is the non-stop tabloid journalism and reporting. Not outgoing President Obama giving his faulty one sided opinions to kids that hopefully where taught to think for themselves.

This begs the questions:
Who in the government and the media can we believe anymore?
What happened to truth and honesty in this country?
Why does everyone in government and the media now treat all of us like we are their marionettes?

Check the videos of who was lighting the fires in Ferguson, Baltimore, the most recent history where we do have video.
Who was that dude standing on the truck calling, burn the bitch down! Burn the bitch down!
Perhaps there is a clue there about why the kid got his ass drilled. And Obama punted, no votes in this.
