I can't fn believe this team is letting up 37 shots per game. There is no need to look further as to why they suck. That is comical.
 
I'm still not sold on Chytil being a C long term but for now it's worth trying. If this type of roster is going to even sniff the playoff race they need to be near the top 5 on the PP.
 
I agree. I agree with Prod. He went to the Pack and was man. Not a euro bitch like Kravtsov. Pussy.
 
Lemieux and his career max of 17 points is not a 4th line guy, okay that totally tracks. And as for Lias, right now he is a 4th line guy as well. Do I think he projects to be more in the future, yes, but now he is a 4th line guy. As is Fast.

As long as we view guys like Fast and Lemieux as 3rd line guys, and Strome as a 2nd line guy, we'll struggle.

Your sarcasm is duly noted. I prefer not to judge a guy with with 70 career games played by jumping on his Wikipedia page to see his “career max” in points.

Winnipeg is one of the most wing heavy teams in the league and he only saw 4th line minutes there. He got a chance to play third line minutes after we acquired him and I saw a young player with enough skill and hockey sense to hold his own on the third line while adding additional toughness this lineup needs more of.
 
Tonight at least they look like an NHL team. Staal is not in the lineup and they look much better defensively.
 
Happy you noted my sarcasm, thanks for that. Put whatever spin you want on it, Lemieux's career to this point is a 4th line guy. As is Fast's. As is Lias'. As is Howden's. As is Haley's. As is McKegg's. As is Smith's. Not going to say some of those guys will never be more than that. I would expect Lias and Howden will be, but today now they are 4th line guys. And we play many of them every night. And that doesn't even address the fact that 8th or 9th forward Strome is our # 2 C.
 
I'd have to side with Chuck on the Lemieux debate. I don't see enough offensive potential in his game to be a 3rd liner on a good team. Which is ok, be a great 4th liner like Fast and provide the team toughness. Andersson on the other hand as the 7th overall pick is someone you'd hope to be a top 6 player but he doesn't project there. No reason he can't pair with Howden and TBD to be a really good 3rd line going forward. Kravtsov may top out there, who knows?
 
Can't really judge Andersson by playing scrub minutes on the fourth line with scrubs. I would love to see Andersson get top line minutes before you can seriously judge him.
 
Looks like chytil is enjoying himself. He was always so serious and grumpy.
 
Nice win for the rangers tonight. And they iced 7 players 21 yrs old and younger. Staal need to be scratched regularly. Also liked the way the lindgren- fox pairing tonight
 
Lindgren as I said should have never been sent down. He's a keeper. Reminds me of a y0ung Girardi and is exactly what this defense needs. Young, tough, stay at home d man. Thanks for the memories Staal but he should never play another game here.
 
Kakko had his best game in a while. He needs to work on his skating like Andersson did though. He needs to pick up a couple of steps.
 
I have to say, despite some comical stuff here and there, Smith is actually a better 4th liner than defenseman at this point.
Good game by Georgiev and nice to see Fox get his first goal, maybe that will get him going as he's been a little shaky early on. Hard to see Quinn benching Staal permanently at his salary but he may have no choice but to sit him alot.
 
Hopefully Gorton can deal him with salary retained to some team. Same with Smith. Time to play more youth.
 
I don't know what's up with Rykov, is he still injured and not even with Hartford?
 
He from most scouting reports is like a bigger version of Hajek. Said it for months. There is going to be a big deal where Gorton pieces 3-4 prospects for one high level, young player at a position for need. Hertl comes to mind.

Kravtsov, Keane, Rykov, Wall and Huska for Hertl.

That's the kind of deal I think will happen. Hertl on this team would be fn perfect as the second center. He's excellent on draws and is just breaking out last year like Zibanejad did. The Sharks suck and they need to blow that thing up. You give them 5 guys that can start for them down the line. We are freakin loaded with top goalie prospects and defenseman.
 
They are getting much better. Young guys are figuring out. I wish Andersson would get more ice time.
 
Andersson's been good but I'd like to see him chip in a little more offensively.
 
Quinn has a bad attitude with Andersson. He needs to get over it. Lias was 5 and 1 on draws today. That was better than his previous games. We saw Chytil do this last year. Start out great then suck it. So hopefully, he has learned and can contain this type of play. Fox, Hajek and Lindgren are putting it together. Staal isn't going to get much time here. I hope he knows that he's done here and needs to ask for a trade and hope somebody is desperate enough to take him.
 
Andersson is getting PK minutes which don't generally help with offense but he needs to put shots on goal when he has an opportunity instead of passing.
 
This team blows. They trade Namestnikov and he’s a productive player. Get a real NHL coach behind the bench
 
Well, at least Kakko had 2 points. He is a cornerstone for the future. Andersson was 8 and 3 on draws. Hopefully, he keeps improving though I like him on wing. When Lemieux and Andersson get 10 minutes of ice time and Fast gets 16, this coach is not long for this team. That's just fn stupid. Fast will be outta here at the deadline.
