<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Team president Rod Thorn said DeSagana Diop, who came to the Nets from Dallas in the Jason Kidd deal, likely is headed elsewhere. On the first day of the free agent negotiation period, Diop was offered "a really good deal," according to Thorn.
Signs were pointing to Diop returning to Dallas. The Mavericks, Heat, Spurs and Bobcats likely offered Diop the midlevel exception, if not more. The Nets weren't going to go that high and always thought they would have trouble keeping Diop.</div>

i hope he goes to the spurs just to stick it to kidd and the mavs

So is a really good deal getting a 40 minute window to accept the offer?

Eh, someone's going to overpay Diop, just like someone was going to overpay Scalabrene or Moore. It's sad, but hey, I hope the Mavs do this deal.

Diop for the full midlevel = less financial flexibility for Dallas = them becoming a worse team = a better pick for us in two years!
