Happened during their game against the Grizz.

Anyone know how serious this is. If he's done for the season then they can probably kiss this playoff run goodbye.

MEMPHIS (AP) — San Antonio guard Tony Parker (FSY) left Saturday night's game against the Memphis Grizzlies with a broken bone in his right hand.
Parker, the team's second-leading scorer at 16.6 points a game, injured the hand at the end of the first half, according to Spurs officials.

Parker broke the fourth metacarpal — the bone between the bottom knuckle and the wrist — and did not return to the game.

Parker had eight points and four assists before the injury.

HOLY SHIT! They are gonna be fucked without him right?

There is a picture of the bone below, here is a link to a story about Kevin Love who had the same injury in October.

Here is the part of the article that talks about the recovery time. Basically it is a season ending injury, but he could be back during the playoffs.

UPDATE: According to our doctor sources (including one physical therapist for a local sports team), this is a 4-8 week recovery depending on the type of use after the cast is removed. Probably closer to 8 weeks for a high contact sport like basketball.

UPDATE ii: Zgoda reports that Kahn says an early estimate is 6-8 weeks.

8 weeks! Damn, with Finley now gone and George Hill on the point, Pop might not be able to rest Duncan as much as he'd like.

Lindsey Hunter...book it. He would not be available for the playoffs though.

My fantasy has been decimated by injuries this year. This was the last thing I needed to hear.

This has happened before. The last time they got Tim Duncan. "And with the number one pick in the NBA draft, the San Antonio Spurs select John Wall from the University of Kentucky."

So the injury my not "hurt" them?

San Antonio is going to have to convert a bunch of games they've already won into losses to have any real chance at the #1 pick.

I see the Blazers moving up a notch in the playoff bracket. Minimum.

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich was more direct about the nature of his point guard's loss.

"He's got a broken hand. He'll be out six weeks," the Spurs coach said. "He did it in the first half when he dove on the floor."

I could see OKC taking a fall, but still in the playoffs. Right now it seems like we could be 6, 7, or 8. One of the top five teams would have to really screw up at this point to slip down. The Blazers, Thunder, or Spurs would have to totally fail to fall out of the playoffs. The gap between 8 and the teams out of the playoffs is HUGE right now. 10 wins with a month to go is gigantic.

I've always liked the 6th seed. You avoid the top 2 teams in the first round then avoid the top seed in the second round.

Lindsey Hunter and his sub-Blake PER. Watch out, Western Conference.

Is there a more overrated player than Lindsey Hunter at 39 years old?
