We pick at #24, so try to put players we have a chance to acquire based on trading up a few slots of them slipping.

#1- DeJaun Blair

Paul Millsap V 2.0, but bigger and stronger. Rebounding is one facet of the game that always transfer over regardless of playing level.

#2- Jrue Holiday
jrue-holiday-hd.jpeg

A big, long combo guard who has the skills to become an elite point guard in my mind. He should not have came out this early, but man, a great risk reward prospect. He was the #1 guard out of high school and he does have poise. He looked great vs. VCU in the crunch time and who would be a better mentor than B-Roy?

#3- Patrick Patterson

The kid is compared to Buck Williams, how perfect is that? He is only a sophomore, so he has room to grow, but we need a banger power forward when the matchups call for it.

#4- Sam Young
sam-young-hd_0.jpeg

An experienced college player who on big time program. He would be a great backup to Roy if we decide to ship out Rudy to upgrade in other areas. He has a sweet stroking jump shot and great size for a 2 guard.

#5- Jeff Teague

He was the biggest surprise of the 1st half of the college season, but then struggled to maintain the level of play for the course of the year. He looked phenomenal when on, and him playing off of Roy would be sick. This would be a case of BPA at 24 or to trade up a couple of slots. I do see Bayless as a much higher level prospect, but if he is used in a trade, Teague wouldn't be a bad prospect to train. CP3 said Jeff was better than he was at this size, so that is some high praise.

I'd be shocked if we picked 24th.

Blair would be a great fit. I wouldn't be surprised if hes there at 24. I doubt Holliday lasts that long because of his potential but its possible. Teague seems redundant with Bayless already there.

I think Patrick Patterson is underrated thus far. Hes a tweener but hes a player. I don't think hes what Portland is looking for though- hes not soft but hes 6'8 223 lbs. Hes not a "banger". Seems like an awkward fit for a big Portland team that wants a big, banging reserve PF.

Other players I would love to grab:

* Tyreke Evans (I know, unrealistic, but I love this kid)

* Brandon Jennings

1. Ty Hansborough
Brings toughness, passion and culture of winning!

I think Jrue Holiday will be long gone by 24th.

With all of the underclassmen that returned to school opting out of the draft, a weak class two weeks ago just got a whole lot weaker with scrubs like Chase Budinger projecting into the mid-first round. This draft is going to suck balls, don't fall too in love with some of these prospects.

I like Bayless > all guards in this draft except probably Rubio and Harden, tbh. He'd be a top 5 pick in this draft I believe.

But if I had to pick 3 realistic (kinda) targets for us they would probably be Blair, Patty Mills, and Eric Maynor.

anyone else want to post their draft board instead of:
this draft sucks
<insert name> wont be there
oh yeah..kool aid

Fixed and don't go to NBADraft.net. They had Deshawn Stevenson as the next Michael Jordan. Use Draft Express.

correct.. much better IMO

Gani Lawal is cool.
I figure outside of the top 2, we can probably get whomever we want fairly easily. I'd really like to pick up Sam Young if other needs are met. He plays good D and can hit from 3. He's a good defensive minded role player with decent athleticism. The kind of player I would want as a 12th or 13th man. I wouldn't mind Austin Daye as a long term project. I think KP makes a splash with a draft day trade that gets us a vet at the 1 or 3 and a 4/5 with a bad contract. We also probably make at least one first round pick, and maybe a euro with a 2nd rounder. Prob Beobouis or De Colo, Maybe Seraphim if he declaires.

I like the way you're thinking.

The only problem I have with this year's draft is that there are going to be some lottery picks, making lottery pick money when they aren't worth 2+ million dollars a year ... I know that doesn't sound like much, but if you have 6 or 7 guys all making that kind of money when they aren't even in the regular rotation and you are maxing guys like Brandon, Lamarcus, etc. it kind of adds up and only serves to make deal-making less likely, not to mention killing your bottom line.

Jennings=Telfair imo

Except the fact that Jennings is a taller player, and seems to get anywhere he wants on the court with much more ease. Telfair was a pretty good PG this year when he was healthy, but he had knee tendinitis

I believe they said CJ Miles was the next Kobe Bryant too....Utah has drafted the next MJ & Kobe Bryant

Teague will go back to school if he isn't guaranteed a lottery pick, so there is no realistic chance you guys gets Teague. What do you guys think about Darren Collison?

Getting anywhere he wanted on the court wasn't a problem for Telfair at all, in Portland. It was finishing at the hoop and shooting that really did him in. He also had trouble passing out of traffic.

I don't think you guys want Hansbrough. Cole Aldrich and Blake Griffin both made him look silly and those two are top NBA prospects (Blake this year, Cole next year). I'd avoid Tyler.

Seconded. That guy is going to get abused at the next level; he's the classic player without a position. Not strong enough or tall enough to play power forward, not quick enough to play small forward.

I agree but we have to be realistic at what we're getting at the bottom of the NBA draft.

I think Ty would be a bigger influence in practice and off the court than in games. Madsen wasn't a great player but he brought energy off the bench and brought passion to the Lakers. He won 2 rings with them, need I remind you.

Hopefully Ty can do the same for us.

In the 2nd round, Milan Macvan might be an interesting candidate as a backup 4.

Out of that group you listed I like Patterson and Teague.

I think KP will try to get Jordan Hill and from what I read about him he's not THAT good, so he'll succeed.
