Maybe not this year, but I don't think you can discount the impact that having him on the roster could make next year. Not saying you're right or wrong or that I want him or don't, just that it's hard to just empirically say "getting this guy doesn't do it" without acknowledging the myriad possibilities that exist during his contract (ie. trading CJ in the offseason, S&Ting Trent, etc.)

Sure, but it seems like some people are just in a do something for the sake of doing something mode. Finding a smart move, great, jump on it. Otherwise, look to the buyout market and do the heavy lifting in the summer.
