They could start Trent and Lavine. White isn’t starting for them right now. Either way they can afford Trent since white is on a rookie scale and Otto is off the books in the summer.
Right so no need for them to give up anything for Trent now. The trade market for Trent is gonna be small. It's only teams that won't have capspace in the summer AND have a glaring need at SG, while being willing to pay him closer to 18-20 mil next summer. Keep circling back to Orlando

To me Atlanta still makes the most sense. They don't have a clear starter at shooting guard.

This trade makes so much sense to me for both teams

Dame/Rondo
CJ/Simons
Covington/DJJ/Little
Collins/Melo
Nurk/Kanter

Where did Woj say that? I saw this from Vincent Goodwill this morning:

Trail Blazers interested in JaVale McGee
JaVale McGee is starting to garner interest from the Portland Trail Blazers. McGee was solid for the Lakers in the bubble last summer, and the Blazers are looking for more frontline help. The Blazers are in a tricky spot because Jusef Nurkic appears to be on the way back, as reported by Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes.

Of all the buyout candidates, I think Porter is most likely to actually get bought out. He's on a 28 mil deal and is not playing, and is expiring. I don't see a market for him in trades.

A Hood for George Hill swap gets us some more room under the tax line(~1.9 mil under). I would add a future second to that to see if we can entice OKC.

Then create enough room for Porter Jr in the buyout market. That would just be insane value.

Dame/ Hill
CJ/ Trent / Ant
Jones/ Porter / Nas
Roco / Melo
Nurk/ Kanter / Giles

The amount of defensive versatility and depth that roster offers is unbelievable. Can go super small or super big at every position. It would be a shame that the keys to that lineup be given to a guy who is completely unimaginative like Terry, but it would only be for a year.
I was going to post something similar.

Hood -> Hill
Porter as a min contract

That would be an amazing trade deadline!

McGee only makes sense if we are trading Nurk or Kanter for another player.
Trading Kanter for McGee just to have a different backup center won't happen.
Both have positives and negatives to their games. To just swap them out will not make us better.

There has been so much noise about Gordon and not much about Collins. I wonder if Neil is driving up the interest in Gordon so he can go after someone else.

McGee is ten times the defender Kanter is. What does this team need more than defense? He’s also a good rebounder in his own right. McGee has also improved his playmaking this season. He also averages more ppg/36 than Kanter. It’d be a clear upgrade.

What if Nurk isn't coming back anytime soon?

What happened to the tweet? I agree McGee is a better defender but Kanter is much better Overall. I'm scared as fuck if McGee is our Backup and Kanter is gone. Nurkic cant stay healthy ffs

Clear?

He also averages almost 6 fouls per 36 so he wouldn't be able to maintain the minutes needed to average that.

Also averages fewer rebounds, and would take almost 4 more FG's to average 3 more points per 36.

His ORTg and DRTg, really depends on the team he's on. Although that's a bad barometer to use, because right now Kanters ORTg is 131 and his DRTg is 114, and Javale is 104-107. So a lot of it depends on the overall defense of the team (which explains why Javales #'s were so good when he played on the Warriors and Lakers, and the rest of his career it's been meh).

Not sure it's a clear upgrade offensively, talent wise either. Javale relies on others to get his points (alley oops, misses) far more than Kanter does (although Kanter does gobble up offensive rebounds really good too).

He’s a clear upgrade just for his ability to cover the pick and roll

apparently there was a tweet about McGee and the Blazers??

I'm not as eager as some to move Trent as I think he's going to get better but this is a deal I can get behind. Collins fits a need and Rondo is the coach we have so desperately needed for several seasons.

I'm in. They can have a second or two as well to get it done.
