Add this to the public revealing of Gordon's trade request, I'm guessing a firesale out of Orlando. This also should make Trent a priority for the Magic.

I think a Rondo backup PG would be nice, if Rondo wasn't a shell of his former self.

I'm not as eager as some to move Trent as I think he's going to get better but this is a deal I can get behind. Collins fits a need and Rondo is the coach we have so desperately needed for several seasons.

I'm in. They can have a second or two as well to get it done.

Id probably do a Collins Trent swap too, but I don’t think Atlanta is gonna move Collins.

Another team that's been run so horribly over the years.

Orlando is probably regretting backing out of their deal with Portland. Doubt they’re gonna get two firsts for Gordon now, but good for them if they do. I’d be surprised though.

I don't think they ever back out..... we talked with them but I don't think it was ever agreed upon.

believe what you want:

Weiss and Amick reported league sources told them Portland and Orlando were "at the finish line" for a deal surrounding Aaron Gordon last offseason before the Magic backed out. The Blazers used a similar package, two first-round picks, to land Robert Covington instead.

widely reported that orlando rejected the offer last minute, and we turned our attention to Roco with the same package.

Backing out assumes that something was agreed upon though. Otherwise you're still negotiating.

semantics.

@Scalma 's point remains about Orlando probably regretting not taking that offer. they held on to their pieces too long. They seem to be doing the same with Fournier. Also highlighting why we need to find a taker for Trent now. He's gonna be much harder to move for a player at a position we need when he's making 18 mil/yr

I wonder what the trade proposal looked like. I assume it would have been Ariza + the two 1sts. But Portland was over the tax at the time and there would have been a 7.7M difference between Ariza's salary and Gordon's. Something like Ariza + Zach + Hezonja is about the only thing that would have worked. But that would have kept the Blazers from using their ful-MLE and they would have had trouble landing Kanter

TOR and DAL will be the two teams that go hard after Gary this offseason. Toronto especially, with Lowry probably gone at the deadline if not this offseason, they will want Trent to pair with VanVleet

Looks like Gordon will likely be headed to Boston. They are apparently offering two firsts. Orlando wants Marcus Smart.

that would be a good haul for Gordon. And for Boston, Kemba stays at PG; Brown moves to SJ; Tatum moves to SF; and Gordon at PF. That team has potential

Paying 85 mil/yr for Siakam/Van Vleet/Trent/Anunoby doesn't seem like a smart thing to do.

I feel like Marcus Smart is a better player than Aaron Gordon. And they have to add two firsts on top?

That is who Orlando wants not sure if Boston is willing to give him up. They still have Walker/Teague if they do.

The rumor includes Fournier going to Boston.

Smart for Fournier.

2 firsts + TPE for Gordon.

This was all over twitter and the Athletic yesterday.

Seems like that deal would be done

Wasn't Marcus smart like a can't miss guy? What the hell happened to him?

They already have Norm Powell who is averaging close to 20ppg this season. I don’t think the Raptors chase Trent.
