Exclusive Trade for Kevin Love? Yea on Nay?

He is better for our team.
If we bring Love we don't need him and don't have the minutes or touches he'd want and he wants more than he deserves, that's why Cleveland wants to trade him.
If we give Cliff Alexander a chance he can give us something we're not really getting from any of our bigs, scoring in the paint.

I think if this were the case, He would get Vonlehs spot. Its clear that Stotts thinks Vonleh is the better potential project or thier roles would be reverse.

Well obviously Terry Stotts doesn't see it that way or Alexander would be getting playing time.

Exactly.

Vonleh showed big signs in summer league and continues to give glimpses that he might be able to develop a quite sound and versatile offensive game. I'm not seeing limits yet.
Alexander's only inside presence is crashing the boards. Think more like Davis. Alexander doesn't have an offensive game.

Vonleh is an inch shorter than, and 5 lbs lighter than Plums. I'd consider playing him at C next to Love.

Love has played C some.

I think a deal for Love would include CJ, at least. The Cavs would be nuts to accept less, or even CJ straight up.

Good. Because CJ is more valuable. I would take Love, but not for cJ. In today's NBA players who can shoot from anywhere on the floor are the most valuable. And to do so you have to be able to create your own shot. Stretch 4's cannot create their own shot.

In other words, they will be untouchable for the next 3 seasons.
Yeah, but I'd say CJ is probably going to get signed to a 4 year max, which means in 5 years him and Dame will both be Free Agents again. I don't think they are going to break up the Dame, CJ back court in 5 years unless there are serious problems. But CJ showed he can take apart the best defenses in the league last year vs Memphis.

hehe, this discussion is still going on?
We all know that Love doesn't want to be in Portland and even if he did he would take us nowhere fast, so why waste time on it?

We can still get Markieff Morris for FREE.

and interesting that they both have a standing reach a 9.0 ft and Plums has a 6'11" wingspan and Vonleh 7'4", at the combine Vonleh actually exceeded Plums "vertical" stats by one inch on each jump.

Never acquire a player who looks like he should be in a pairs figure skating event with Chazz Michael Michaels.

I might have to challenge that if Gordon Hayward was available! Also....interesting that you're probably the only one here that knows who Chazz Michael Michaels is...I had to google his name myself

So if the rumors are true and the Cavs might want to move Mozgov as well as Love, I would consider taking both off their hands. Mozgov offers the rim protection we would need. Some of you don't like Plumlee, but I think he has a lot of value for the right team. (Teams who appreciate a passing big man) If Cleveland want to save money and get some talent, how about Vonleh, Plumlee, and Aminu for Love and Mozgov? Some will laugh that it is not close to be enough, but remember the salary cap savings and the potential of Vonleh. Of course others will laugh that it is too much.

That would leave us a 10 man rotation of:

Dame, CJ,
CJ, Crabbe, Henderson
Harkless, Crabbe, Henderson
Love, Davis, Leonard
Mozgov, Davis, Leonard

Others: Kaman, Frazier, Montero, Pat C, Alexander

You forgot about Meyers. He would have to be somewhere, either there or here.

You beat me by a few seconds. I realized it just after I posted it. Yes it would be a 10 man rotation with Leonard.
Wrong answer. No longer interested.

I know you have to give up something to get something but if Leonard was in and Vonleh out then I do the deal. Otherwise I pass (and yes I understand that this sounds homerish - probably is!).

I'm on your side. Send Plumlee, Meyers, and Aminu. Sounds good.

He would be fine as the 3rd team Center and PF.
Harkless would have to cover Stretch 4's as well as playing SF. We would need to address that depth issue this summer.
