This season is reminiscent of 14-15. We were high in the standings of the west until Wes went down and then GS blew up.

We won't be able to catch GS, but a WCF spot is wide open this year. We need to make a move to definitively make the conference finals-- what's out there? An Arron Afflalo kinda move would obviously be horrific, but I think that had more to do with the personnel than the idea behind the trade. For the right kinda player, we should move Simons/Trent/Biggie/etc to take on some salary if needed.

I really think big man depth behind Aminu would be useful. A star addition would be cool too.

Butler for CJ.

Butler for CJ.
This is the trade. I think we could get Butler to stay. I think Minny would do it too.

Dame, Butler, Chief, Zach and Nurk would be an amazing defensive starting lineup and oh they could score too.

Harkless and Aminu frontcourt, not Aminu and Zach.

Cleary we should figure out how to deal Nurk for Kelly O and baby Sabas. Then we can have a 3-man all Zag frontcourt, and we'd be unstoppable!

Allegedly improves both the Ws and Cs, but Blazers get the most upside. Seems crazy, but is it?

Why would the Warriors trade a big man for two more guards?
Shift KD to 4 and Klay to 3, make their 3-point shooting even more deadly. Allow Jordan Bell to play the

Obviously not likely, but it's not devoid of logic.

I don’t think Celtics are ready to dump Hayward. He’s been below par but it’s only less than 15 games since he came back from a bad injury and they pitched him quite hard in the free agency. Would be very unfair to dump him after a month.

Not sure if it would be "unfair" but it might be stupid. You are right 15 games is not long enough for a guy to work his way back from that injury. I would consider trading him if I were Boston, but I would not dump him. Ainge is not stupid though, he will hold out for more value.

A Friend of Mine (sixers fan) asked me if i would make this Trade: Philly get's Lillard, Kings get's Evan Turner and a Philly 1st rounder, Portland get's Ben Simmons, Fultz, Shumpert, Wilson Chandler, a Philly 2nd rounder and the Heat 2021 1st Rounder unprotected. I don't know man that's a huge Offer but Trading Lillard would Break my Heart

I wouldnt. Phillys picks would be close to worthless. Chandler, Shumpert are talents that are easy to find in the NBA and Simmons is a long, long ways away from Dame. All together Id rather have Dame.

Chandler/Shumpert would be expirings just to match salary. The deal would nearly eliminate Portland's tax for this year, and clear tons of salary for next year. Also, that 2021 Miami pick could be significant.

All that said, I'd pass.

Why would portland want expirings and tons of salary cap space? That strategy has not worked out for them...

Didn't say they would. Just clarifying that those players' inclusion in the deal wouldn't be for their skills so much as for their contract status.

If someone were interested in such a deal, it would be based on the notion that Simmons is far superior defensively to Dame, that his lower focus on scoring might allow CJ to flourish as the lead scorer, and the speculation that perhaps a change of scenery (back to the NW) could lead to Fultz becoming a quality player.

Fair enough. Just think thatd be an awful deal over all for the Blazers unless Simmons all of a sudden learns how to shoot outside of 15 feet and Fultz figures stuff out, then it might be somewhat even.

If Dame demanded a trade I would do this trade, even though I'd be a little scared about Simmons not wanting to stay here long term. As it is now though I don't think you can trade Dame.

Yes. It would be painful in the short term, but Simmons and Fultz plus the rest would be amazing in one year.

Why would Fultz be amazing in a year? Do you know of some miracle cure for the yips?

Has yips ever claimed anyone in the NBA before Fultz? He’s gotta be the first I can remember.

I can't recall it getting someone in the NBA that was once a good player like several times I've seen it in baseball. However with Fultz, he hasn't ever proven to be a good shooter in the NBA so maybe he just sucks and has gotten by on pure athleticism up until this point. I don't really know how to explain stopping mid free throw though.

No trades involving Dray are permitted to be talked about, I brought it up before the draft and got roasted for it. Dray and Dame are buddies however.

When you brought it up pre-draft, was there any indication that keeping Draymond around might cause KD to leave?
