Boring trade but I think this could help PDX

Nets get: Ross, Wade Baldwin blazers first
Magic get DinWiddie Harkless if he’s ever heathy
Blazers get Joe Harris Jonathan Simmons

Magic get their PG of the present and future. Nets get a first and open up even more cap room for 2019. Blazers now have a ton of options on the perimeter to play a multitude of different ways and also can now sustain an injury or two.

Brooklyn wouldn't do that. Dinwiddie will have a super cheap cap hold next summer for his bird rights and is very solid. Joe Harris has been one of the most efficient players in the league and his $8M a year is unlikely to be a difference maker to them.

Also, Orlando gives up two awful players for a starter caliber PG and solid SF with starting experience in the playoffs?

Also, why would we do it? Simmons has regressed to being a borderline NBA player and Harris isn't worth Harkless and a 1st.

I would make a deal for Josh Jackson. He seems toasted at Phoenix and they don’t really develop their players very well. Would send them a second rounder or a lottery protected first and see if they bite.

Would prefer TJ Warren now that he knows how to shoot a three ball but they’ve been starting him so he’s probably not available right now.

We'd have to include CJ in a deal for Beal for two reasons but who knows if Washington would even want CJ. The first reason is that there is no way Dame, CJ, and Beal could co-exist and be happy with their shot distribution. The second reason is that Washington would get the most value on their roster in a trade involving Beal so I don't see them giving him up for that little.

This is mostly a joke but what about this:
http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y7yvl3xs

Wiz save a shitload of money. Kings get Oubre for taking on Leonard's contract.

Blazers then sign Carmelo Anthony with the open roster spot.

Starters: Dame, CJ, Layman (Harkless when healthy), Porter, Nurk
Bench: Curry, Stauskas, Melo, Collins (eventually Layman when Harkless comes back)
Deep Bench: Simons, Trent, Swanigan, Koufos

LOL, I don't know if that's any better but it's certainly more interesting.

Edit: If the Kings took Jason Smith too then the Wizards would actually get under the tax line (they are currently $9 million over it).

I keep coming back to this trade:

WAS Gets: Meyers Leonard, Skal Labissiere, $13M TPE
POR Gets: Otto Porter Jr
SAC Gets: Maurice Harkless

Sacramento need to receive an additional asset. They got no incentive to take Harkless into their cap space without being given at least a second round pick.

It's fine for Washington, they probably do not expect to receive anything of value for Porter so as long as they can get rid of his absolutely awful deal without sending back picks they will be delighted.

Apparently Charlotte is actively pursuing Bradley Beal.

I imagine most of you would have no interest in this, but it would be nice to have a SF whose knee does not have a mystery ailment:

Otto.

Porter.
It's interesting: he's good enough that you'd think we couldn't get him with what we're prepared to offer, but
(a) he's got a MASSIVE contract despite
(b) fairly anemic stats

He would be PERFECT for us, so long as we didn't give up CJ, Nurk, Collins or Aminu - and you have to wonder why Wash would want anything else except a shitload of picks.
If we DID manage to get him without giving up any of those, I'd say we had the best 7 man rotation since the Pippen days.

You'd hope so, but it's the same GM who GAVE him that deal, and it would take a lot for him to admit how crappy the deal is. And given how they've kept the same core together for so long, I bet he really overvalues Porter.

Dude, Batum sucks. Have you watched him play recently?

And why on Earth would Washington trade their best player for that?

Otto.

Porter.

Yeah, right now Porter is the player who would seem to be the best fit and is available. Olshey must be looking into this. He has the right skill set and attitude to do very well here.

WTF!? I was one of Nic's bigger supporters here, but I wouldn't even trade Meyers straight up for him (if it was possible).

Is he better than Jake Layman? Does he have two functioning knees?

Basically it's Miles Bridges and a pick or two from Charlotte.
[/QUOTE]
I would choose Layman over Batum right now 1 million percent of the time considering contracts. It's not even close.

The Wiz can do much better than Miles Bridges, a pick, and two bad contracts.

Yeah, batums deal is still way too awful to do that. Charlotte should have to pay bridges just to move him. They basically get Beal for nothing there.
