I'd take Love if you could get him for cheap, but not as a CJ trade. Why would we want a big that only plays about 50 games a season? No thanks on Love.

Terrible trade for usNext up is the Indiana Pacers. Having Oladipo already, they probably wouldn't want CJ. They do have a lot of decent players that are expiring contracts too but they are on a roll right now making it unlikely they make a major move. Now that Allen has passed away maybe KP can get over his grudge (alleged) against Portland.
CJ and Swanigan for Thad Young, Tyreke Evans, and Indy 2019 1st. Tyreke has been super disappointing coming off a good year last year. This gives Indy more of a long term fit. We could see if we could add Collison and Leonard to the trade to clear more salary for next summer but the problem with Tyreke is that he doesn't come with bird rights. Although if CJ and Leonard were both included we could possibly get up to $20 million in cap space cleared if Tyreke played well enough to offer him a mutli-year deal.
Probably nothing here though.
And?Danny Green and Serge Ibaka for CJ and Meyers works.
Here are the next four years salary for Love,
$24,119,025 $28,942,830 $31,258,256 $31,258,256
There is nothing cheap about any of that. He is not worth 24 million, much less 31 million for two season. His contract would hamstring the blazers worse then ET, Moe or Meyers, most like worse then two of them combined. He is not worth 30% of a teams salary cap.
Here is a guy who refused to believe in his limitations:So because of your physical limitations of not being good enough to play major league baseball I couldn't possibly be good at something that doesn't require physical ability.
I'm sorry but that is about the dumbest analogy I've ever heard.
Yep and with only one more year after this we will be out from under the contracts of Harkless, Turner and Leonard.
Hence the part where I said "Probably nothing here though"Terrible trade for us
Lee isnt really an upgrade over Curry though and is very undersized for a SF. Plus, were already thin up front.Courtney Lee for Meyers and Stauskas. Knicks save a couple mil and take a look at Meyers. We get a reliable bench player and open up a spot for the buyout market.
Of course I'd do that without hesitation. I would love a trade like this but I doubt NY would.Courtney Lee for Meyers and Stauskas. Knicks save a couple mil and take a look at Meyers. We get a reliable bench player and open up a spot for the buyout market.

Hes a better fit defensively and a worse fit offensively. Adding mediocre depth at a deep position at the expense of getting rid of what little frontcourt depth we have.Lee is a lot better fit next to dame and CJ than curry. In the playoffs stotts isn’t going to go without one of them on the court at all times.

Hes really not. Lee has a sub-53TS% on 33% 3pt shooting. He's aging. Meanwhile, Currys struggled from 2pt range but he's shooting an outstanding 48% from 3pt range. You say Curry has only had one really good season? Okay do you really think his 32% from 3pt range isnt due to the rust he's had to knock off? That's an obvious outliar. Curry is better offensively, even during his down-year coming back from injury. No he’s better on both ends. Curry has really only had one good season. Not someone to bank on. He’s already been benched once and has no playoff experience.
And as far as depth is concerned, if they’re calling on their third center the season is over, not to mention a bunch of second units don’t even have a traditional center, nevermind two. OKC went a whole season with Jerami Grant as Adams’ backup.
But if they really insisted on adding bodies they could easily sign someone to a two way or a ten day, or wait for buyout guys that would be upgrades over Leonard anyway. Not really a big deal.

Which is why Seth needed some time to get his confidence back. He didnt play in 1-game, so I wouldnt call that "getting benched".
So if Nurk gets into foul trouble in a game we need to win, season over?... We'd need Meyers in that situation, especially against bigger Centers. Collins fouls a lot too, so we need that big man depth. It's not worhmth it over a lateral move that wouldnt make a difference at all in Courtney Lee, who isnt even an upgrade over Curry.
That is a very steep price. If they'd be willing to pay it, NO needs to jump on that.Turner, leonard, trent for batum, bridges, hermangomez.
They get out of batum last year, but at a steeper price than the Kaminsky they're offering
Really? I feel the exact opposite that the Hornets wouldn't be giving up enough to warrant taking Batum. That is a very steep price. If they'd be willing to pay it, NO needs to jump on that.
A lottery pick wing and a talented young backup C? For the privilege of exchanging Batum for Turner/Leonard? Sign me up yesterday.Really? I feel the exact opposite that the Hornets wouldn't be giving up enough to warrant taking Batum.
I don't really look at it as who we could sign but instead that we've been hampered to make trades by being above or near the tax line since 2016. Trading for Batum locks us into that territory for 2.5 more years instead of 1.5.A lottery pick wing and a talented young backup C? For the privilege of exchanging Batum for Turner/Leonard? I look at it this way; the argument against such a deal is that Batum would impact our cap/tax position for the summer of 2020. But would we be likely to sign a player with the available cap space that summer that is better than what Miles Bridges projects to be by that point? Personally, I don't think so.

I know this sounds crazy but I could maybe get behind it if we flipped Batum for Chandler Parsons. Then we get out of the 3rd year while adding Bridges and Hernangomez. I don't think either Parsons or Batum would help us so I'd rather have the shorter contract.
Do that now if CHA would. I love Bridges. Exactly the kind of athletic tweener we need. Even Nic can play for 20 mpg in the ET roleTurner, leonard, trent for batum, bridges, hermangomez.

I'm not really talking about the 125% vs 150% thing either, it's more the general mind set of making trades based on financial decisions instead of basketball decisions. Last year for example we paid the Bulls to take Noah Vonleh away and let a really useful trade exception go unused strictly because of our cap situation. Imagine if we were enough under the tax line last year to keep Vonleh and use the trade exception on Mirotic? This operates on the assumption that Olshey has actually been pursuing deals that might conceivably have fallen into that 125-150% match range. Not a safe assumption, IMO.
What exactly do you love about Miles Bridges? He is athletic but to me he doesn't really have an elite skill at this level. I feel like he would be better suited playing on an uptempo team rather than our super slow half court offense.Do that now if CHA would. I love Bridges. Exactly the kind of athletic tweener we need. Even Nic can play for 20 mpg in the ET role
I would rather trade CJ for an expiring contract that we buy out and never plays for us than for Wiggins. He's a terrible defender and bad 3 point shooter so I'm not sure what you are talking about. The idea of what Wiggins should be maybe fits that but he might have the current worst contract in the NBA.I'm sure this has been discussed in the past but CJ for Wiggins seems like a deal that benefits both teams. They get a dynamic scorer that they don't have and we get a freak athlete, who won't be overwhelmed on defense by the average sized 2... and a decent spot up shooter from three.
But still, it's a willingness thing rather than an ability. Last year (I don't need to tell you) we were operating under the assumption that we would be taxpayers this coming season and forward, so that whole deal was based on not starting the repeater clock yet. Had they thought Mirotic would make an impact, I don't think they would have balked at trading for him. I don't think that was "being hampered by the tax" so much as an evaluation failure. Which is the same explanation (IMO) for why they gave up on Vonleh in the first place. Poor evaluation by the front office. THAT hamstrings this organization more than anything elseI'm not really talking about the 125% vs 150% thing either, it's more the general mind set of making trades based on financial decisions instead of basketball decisions.
