Sporting News is reporting the Washington's Markief Morris is out at least 6 weeks with neck and back issues. Will that lower his price, or just his worth?
He's probably not going to be traded now. He could be a potential buyout candidate though.

Per Sean Deveney: The Hornets are offering Kaminsky as incentive to any team willing to take on Batum or Bismark. Given that Kaminsky has fallen out of their rotation and is headed into RFA, that's worth about as much as a 3-legged, 1-eyed, race horse. I can't see anybody biting on that.
LMAO, as if turning down 4 1st round picks to take Kaminsky wasn't bad enough. Now they think he still has value?

Well first off, @Scalma's question was how many picks would they have to give us to take Batum so I was answering that I would be fine with their pick this year as the only one if they took Turner back plus filler. You are coming in asking a completely different question.

If I'm the Blazers I would still accept the pick with top-5 protection this season. Like I said previously the Hornets aren't going to finish worse than 6th or better than 17th. With protecting it top-5 they keep it if they get lucky or don't if they stay where they are at. I think that is more than fair for taking on as much money for Batum as that would end up being.

If I'm the Hornets (or frankly any team that isn't a contender) I would almost never attach a pick just to dump salary. The only exception to that would be if my boss told me I had to or if doing so was because I had another move lined up that I needed the money for. These types of trades happen all the time though so obviously some teams are in fact willing to salary dump with picks (just not unprotected anymore). Those are the teams I'd be constantly trying to take advantage of and if the Hornets are desperate to move Batum they almost certainly have to give up something good to do so.

ok, I was just responding to you because of your response to me.

It will lower his value, but all depends on what the long term plans are for him with the Wiz as he is an expiring contract and by dealing him they would have to take back some sort of contract that matches. Might end up having to take a small expiring and a small extended contract so they may just let him walk or look to re-sign him. I always liked the Morris brothers as they play solid and tough.

Would Dallas want Wiggins?

Turner and Leonard to Minnesota

Wiggins to Dallas

Wes and Dennis Smith Jr to us

Then flip DSJ for a young wing on a rookie deal like Mikal Bridges.

Dame, CJ, Hark, Aminu, Nurk

Curry, Wes, Bridges, Collins round out the rotation. That's pretty solid. We almost get under the tax this year and are way below it in the off season.

Why would Minnesota keep us in that deal?

Alright, I know it's stupid but I'm going to keep going...

Cleveland (These trades will have to wait until late January):

CJ and Swanigan for JR Smith, Alec Burks, 2021 1st round pick, and 2021 1st round pick via Milwaukee

Straight salary dump that loads us up with picks if we have to rebuild after Dame's contract is up. Then flip JR Smith to Houston for Brandon Knight and their 2019 1st round pick giving us 3 1sts for CJ.

CJ, Turner, and Swanigan for Love, JR Smith, Channing Frye, and Washington's 2022 2nd round pick

We can then still flip JR for Brandon Knight and a 1st from Houston.

If Olshey turned CJ into a salary dump and 3 first round picks, I would kiss his ring at center court!

It's interesting though the divide on CJ. We have some like you who would be ecstatic at that trade and then there is a whole group that thinks that would be the worst trade ever.

Does that mean it's pretty fair?

If you do a trade like this then you also trade Dame and build around Nurk. Dame is going to be 29 he's not getting younger and your going to trade CJ for draft picks?

Who says no to this?

Detroit gets CJ, DJ Augustin, and Khem Birch

Orlando gets Reggie Jackson and Ish Smith

Portland gets Terrence Ross, Reggie Bullock, Luke Kennard, and a Detroit 2019 1st

We get under the tax line this year, add a 1st rounder, a young shooter with two more years left on his deal after this one, and two expiring wings who could both help us this year and we could re-sign if we want to keep them.

The biggest issue I see is the Blazers trade CJ and bring in 3 players. We would have to include two other players or create a couple more roster spots, since we are maxed out.

Yeah, there would definitely have to be a work around that. I tried to include some others but couldn't quite get it to fit with more money going to either team. So we'd have to have some sort of other deal in place or cut two players.

Alright next up for CJ is Detroit. They are the first team I've gotten to that would actually really want CJ on their team and that makes sense (although I could see Cleveland liking him too). I've already mentioned some 3-team trades with Detroit involved but I'll keep these to just between the two teams:

CJ and Leonard for Blake Griffin and Khyri Thomas. Griffin is one of the few players I could actually see Olshey trading CJ for. It sounds like the Pistons want to keep Griffin and don't think of him as a bad contract, YET. This trade actually saves us a little money the next couple years but then hurts the last two years of Griffin's contract. Given Griffin's injury history too this trade is probably not one I'd choose but I also wouldn't be mad if it happened.

CJ for Andre Drummond. I know for a fact the Pistons would do this because they are sick of Drummond. Their salaries are almost identical. With the emergence of Nurk I don't think it makes a lot of sense to trade for another center instead of a wing. Maybe there would be a 3rd team we could flip Drummond to?

CJ and Swanigan for Reggie Jackson, Luke Kennard, Reggie Bullock, and a 2019 Detroit 1st. I'd hate to get stuck with Reggie so we'd have to flip him elsewhere or just suck it up for a year along with Turner and Leonard but I am liking the idea of adding Kennard and Bullock and a mid 1st rounder. I guess this trade depends on if there is a 3rd team to flip Reggie Jackson to.

I personally would not want to see them get Blake. Dude can't stay healthy. His contract is way to large for someone who you can only count on for less then 3/4 of a season.
