Otto Porter Jr... Please.
He doesn't need the ball in his hands as much as other guys to be effective. He's the guy I would go after.

Sacramento wants Horford.Time to look at teams we can dump an expiring on to open up the full MLE for Hood and maybe even another signing on top of it.
Team that stands out is Sacramento. They have a shit ton of cap space (anywhere from $47-$66M depending on Harrison Barnes) but aren’t really a destination for FAs. They have been connected to Harkless in the past and could use a wing. They also don’t have a center under contract currently (WCS is a RFA)
Would they take either Harkless or Leonard into their cap space for a year? Wouldn’t cost them anything else and they’d get their bird rights. We’d open up the full MLE, keep Hood, and maybe add a guy like Rolo, who we most likely couldn’t get for the minimum.

I would try it at the Suns, they seem like the new Nets and dumb enough to take big salaryTime to look at teams we can dump an expiring on to open up the full MLE for Hood and maybe even another signing on top of it.

If we are balancing the roster I wonder if Washington would do Turner+Trent for Mahinmi+Brown.
I agree but I rather have Mahinmi than Turner for our team. We need as many bigs as we can get, and if it’s an expiring, grab him.We could pluck a random C from the G League that would play better than Mahinmi.

Thats not additional salary and Turner can play point.Suns will not want to take on additional salary and Johnson is their best point guard currently. Even if they sign one via free agency they will need him for bench minutes.
That adds about 11 million in extra salary to PhoenixThata not additional salary and Turner can play point.
Good memory: https://www.oregonlive.com/blazers/2014/02/trail_blazers_forward_nicolas_batum_leads_the_nba.htmlDidn't he lead the league is miles on the court while with Portland?
)Until we officially sign Little he can be traded and doesn't count as salary in a trade. Once he signs he can't be traded for 30 days.I know that we have all (rightfully) fallen in love with Little. But he is not at the age or stage of development where he will fit the team's timeline. But what if we could now include him in a trade (I'm assuming we can?). A trade for an established SF that could also free up enough money to sign Hood. I don't know what cap value Nassir would have in a trade. What I am suggesting is something like Little (and a future pick?) plus Turner, Harkless and Leonard for Otto Porter and two years of Felicio. Wouldn't Little fit in a lot better with Chicago's timeline? (I almost want to run this by Hoopsjock before I post it so he can tell me why it's not possible.)
Sooo, it could work! Who knows how Chicago values him; they didn't have a chance to draft him in the lower lottery.Until we officially sign Little he can be traded and doesn't count as salary in a trade. Once he signs he can't be traded for 30 days.
In my opinion, you don't trade a guy who's value dropped in the draft before you see what he can do. If he plays well in summer league it's going to immediately boost his value to the point where teams actually could covet him instead of just being a throw in asset for a trade. I also don't agree with the timeline thing. If he can play he can help sooner rather than later. Simons was considered far away from contributing but it seems like he's so talented that they won't be able to keep him from getting minutes next year.
Turner+Hark for Whiteside+JonesI’m going to stay on the Whiteside train. Heat probably want to dump him but not everyone has the money to make it work. We need a center and have the expirings to match. Heat need another ballhandler. There was interest in him a couple years ago. He said he would’ve come to Portland if he hadn’t signed with Miami. Seems like there’s a deal to be made there. Give em Turner and one of Meyers/Harkless.
