In case you didn’t read them all, 95% of every trade proposal that’s ever been posted here was stupid.

I just want this roster blown up and for people to stop making excuses for the great character guys we have on our roster. It’s sports, it’s about winning, not who looks like they would make a great friend.
 
The offseason should be the time for dreaming(Dray) not settling(Hill)! Everyone knows settling time for Blazer fans doesn’t start till the trade deadline.

That's fine and there are plenty of discussions about the blow up approach on here. I'm not trying to be the reality police but it's really annoying when people are like why don't we just trade for Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid like those guys are available or something. I like when the discussions are actually possible. Even though we both know a blowup isn't happening it's still fun to talk about what that would look like but to just read someone say they need to blow it up to be a real franchise isn't really adding anything to the discussion.

I don't want to speak for him but almost every trade proposal I've seen that Bones has presented is to get a higher pick in the draft. Hill is a contract that is bad and could allow us to move up by taking it on and he can fit a role as a backup combo guard. Both Bones and myself want to find that young star in the draft as that is the most realistic way to get said talent on this roster.

Even if GS was trading Green the pieces we could potentially want from them for him like a CJ would be something GS wouldn't want. There is also this thing called the salary cap so GS can't Sign-and-Trade this summer anyway. It's literally impossible unless Durant leaves for nothing.
 
I don’t like having discussions about fixing the team by adding George Hill or Delly before the offseason has even officially began. I’ll spend my words on unrealistic trades if that’s ok. Call me a dreamer I guess.

Delly wouldnt fix the team, hes a bad contract. Its the pick that wr could get along with him that makes it a worthwhile trade idea. George Hill would be a best 3rd guard we've ever had behind Dame and CJ.

You're upset because people are pointing out that there's no chance Draymond gets traded. Why? Were in a position where the only way we'll be able to get better is to make smaller, marginal trades that are in our favor that build up into a sizeable enough difference to matter. It's not like we haven't had some level of success, we just have to figure out how to have the same levels of success in the post-season through careful roster shaping and a second-look at our style of play..

I don't understand why you're so upset about that, and are being passive aggressive over it.. Draymond not getting traded, and thankfully there's other moves we can make that'll improve our team.

My trades for Hill usually involve getting rid of a bad contract and taking his on. His expires a year sooner and he's an upgrade from Turner or Leonard. There's layers to the trade, but I'm looking for size, defensive ability, 3pt shooting, and the ability to attack and create from my 3rd guard, as that's what would fit behind CJ and Dame. Hill brings all of that, so I like him as a fit, but there's also usually a lot of different layers of reasoning behind those trade ideas.. layers that others don't see or understand so they just say "I don't want Hill! Don't settle! Get Draymond!"...
 
I’m not upset about anything, I’m amused that we are going into yet another offseason and people think this roster just needs to be “tweaked” to make us world beaters or that grabbing another rookie is gonna help the “Dame” window. It’s time to blow it up, the sooner everyone comes to grip with that the better.
 
I don’t give a shit if it’s Dray or anyone else that was at the all-star game. But don’t get all bent if most of us don’t wanna read 1000 words about the “layers” of a Hill trade. If the goal is to trade up for rookies, sell off Dame and CJ and do a proper rebuild.

There's pretty much nothing we can do that make us world beaters.. You say blow it up.. what does that mean specifically? And why blow it up? A So we can build towards the future?

I think the smart thing to do is to build towards the future while trying to construct the best possible roster now, much as Danny Ainge has done in Boston. A lot of my trades involve adding draft picks using our TPE to take on bad contracts. That's building towards the future while maintaining our status in the present. The Nurk trade, for example, made us much better now and much better in the future. Deals like that don't jump at you but they can have a sizeable impact.
 
Btw I see and understand your layers, I just don’t give a shit about them and the idea that making little trades to move up 5-7 spots is our offseason goal is pretty fucking depressing.

Who's getting "bent" here? It's certainly not me, in just saying there's reasoning behind it that some don't try to comprehend while they get all bent out of shape over it, which is what you're doing right now.

Again, read my above post... Why does GMing have to be so black and white? Trade for a superstar or trade all of ours?... There's a vast middle ground..

Why not add another lottery prospect like Mikal Bridges that could be a starter right away and help us win now, and be a big part of the future?

How did Golden State get Draymond in the first place? A 2nd round pick. Why trade Dame so that we can have a chance to draft the next Thomas Robinson? The draft is too much of a crapshoot to bet franchise pieces on, but the TPE has no value if it's NOT used, so that's why we should use it to move up in the draft to give us better odds in said crapshoot.
 
Lol Neil will NEVER be able to accomplish what Ainge did/is doing in Bos. Ainge has balls, Neil does not.
 
Your talking about using the draft as our main avenue to get better then saying it’s a crapshoot. Cool, I love a plan.

No, I'm not at all. In saying that it is ONE avenue that we can make use of, mainly with our TPE, because the vets available for it aren't even as good as George Hill. If we could move up 7-10 spots in the draft, suddenly our trade package for a realistic option such as Kevin Love is all that much better...
 
Your right Dray was a second round pick, I see where your going with this and I agree...let’s do whatever it takes to secure the entire GS front office and scouts.

I'm not saying that. I used him as an extreme example of someone who's been building towards the present and future.

If someone hits 16 in blackjack amd the dealer drops them a 5, they look like a genius but it was nothing more than pure luck...do you all of a sudden have him play every hand for you?
 
I understand your logic, it’s the same 5 step program we talk about every year, the problem is it’s very hard to make 2 or 3 little deals to gather pieces to make a large deal, that’s a lot of teams that gotta be willing to play ball. I’m tired of this, let me know when we get Hill, with Neil around I fully expect we will get him to be honest, while OKC turns Melo and other shit into an all-star.

Well if it’s just luck needed then I’m all for the draft, what could go wrong for the Blazers.

2 or 3 deals.. There's 29 other teams in the league, with different possibilities for deals amokng each. There's many different options for deals that can accomplish what we need, we just need our GM to be aggressive and have a clear vision and goal, which is something that I haven't neccesarily seen from Olshey... but that's what we need that's actually realistic. It's easy to sit here and say "Get Draymond" and the try to convince yourself and others why it might actually be possible when it's not. It happens all the time with all fanbase with many star players. The Bucks fans at RealGM have convinced themselves that Dame is a realistic target this summer, when we know he's not available, especially for them.

It's not all luck, but it's also not something that I've seen that front office replicate since then.

Name the last time 2-3 mini deals were made to acquire pieces that were then used to land an established player. If you do it sure as shit didn’t all happen the same offseason or season. Ainge’s brilliance started when he fleeced BKY by sending them 2 players he knew he wouldn’t win with again. BALLS
