But whom could they offer that would theoretically be worth it? They're obviously not giving up Porzingis. We should have no interest in Hardaway, Kanter, or Mudiay. Their rookies (Knox and Robinson) are intriguing, I guess, but is that really enough return for CJ?
Also if you wait for them to whiff you can probably get some future picks if you can convince them they need CJ.

I’ll take Knox and hardaway.

I like Harris from the Nets. I wonder if we could spring him lose from them for a player and a pick?

CJ and Swanigan for Kanter, Ntilikina, 2019 2nd (via Houston), 2020 2nd (via Charlotte), 2021 2nd (via Charlotte). This might be something to consider if we traded for Griffin because we'd need some big depth (assuming Leonard and Collins were part of the trade) but overall I'd rather just keep CJ if this is the best we could get for him.
Jesus, your CJ proposals get worse by the day. WTF is this nonsense.

If I was going to trade with Knicks Knox has to be included in the trade. He would surely solidify our small forward position.

They a high draft pick.

They a high draft pick.
The premise was waiting until after they strike out in free agency, thus, well after they've used said high draft pick. What are the chances that they'll give up the hype of their top-5 pick in a trade for CJ?

I wonder if Orlando would take on Leonard if we attached a pick. They’re not a free agent destination at alllll.

Leonard for Ross is a near identical swap financially.

Do you not fucking read? The whole point is to see what teams could potentially offer the best package for him.

I fucking made it clear as day that the Knicks do not make a good trade partner for what they'd be willing to give up and that I wouldn't trade CJ to them. Then here you are saying that proposal is bad? We actually agree on this one, but since you don't like that I'm not giving CJ enough respect you had to attack the proposal?

Then why make the proposal at all?

Half your trades you say this. Seems pointless.

Not a good chance, but theybwouldnt trade us CJ for their 1st this year anyways (even if the cap made that possible).

The hope is hey you pick up a few future 1st’s and hardaway / knox and thats more assets to move up in the draft someday if you want or go get a player you want and include those picks.

This thread is for ideas. I'm compiling a list of what I think other team's best offers are and then we can see what teams we like best for dealing him and what teams we can eliminate.

New York is worth mentioning because CJ would be good on that team (another thing I clearly stated) and now there is a discussion about if they struck out in free agency if they have anything worth revisiting.

I'm not going to skip teams because the bad ones could possibly show that it's not worth dealing CJ. Can you comprehend that?

No need for the snark. When you make dumb posts, expect the negative feedback. That's how this forum works. Just because you preface that proposal with an acknowledgement about how awful it is, doesn't save you from the inevitable critique.

And how the hell do you make a proposal with NY and not even ask for the few assets we COULD use like Knox or Noah or even their pick for Godsakes?

Is this some kind of ego stroke for you? Making shit proposals with every team just because you can? LOL @ ideas.

One thing about waiting is that if they strike out in free agency they would probably have cap space to either make a trade like CJ for Knox and a future pick, where we save a ton of money or they could take back a bad contract in addition to CJ like Leonard or Turner too.

Why is because he stated he wanted to go through team by team and come up with proposals.
It seems like its much easier to criticise someone’s work than to make you own. I bet if you said I dont like this trade and provided your own ideas that would be much better conversation than appearing upset that someones putting trade ideas in the trade ideas thread.

You are completely off base and seemingly not capable of understanding.

I didn't include Knox because there is no way they'd include him now. I'm trying to be as realistic as possible with what the other team would offer.

Spoiler alert: The Lakers proposal won't include LeBron James either.

There is no ego involved here so I don't even know what the fuck that means. You could just agree with me and say, yeah the Knicks aren't a good match.

Join the conversation if you want to, but you telling me my proposal makes no sense and asking wtf I'm doing while not actually understanding what I'm doing is pointless.

Starting to stray into personal attacks here. Let's avoid talk of personal characteristics like ego and comprehension ability, please.

Thank you, that is all I was asking of him. Like I said this "shit proposal" actually sparked several comments about possible future dealings.

I keep saying this. A trade starting off with CJ for Aaron Gordon is something that will work for both teams. Magic are now 2.5 games behind the 8th spot in the pitiful east and they are desperate to make the playoffs. They need a lead guard in the worst way after having DJ Augustin play nearly 30 mpg nightly.

They are clogged at forward with all their recent picks and need to clear room for Issac. Gordon doesn't swing down to SF as much as he did with Vogel, but there's clearly no time for him there as the sole PF. He'd fit amazingly with Dame and Nurk.

Aminu + CJ for Gordon + Ross would be tremendous. I think both teams would actually do that.

Minnesota looks like an 8 seed, AT BEST. See what it would take to get Covington or Saric.

Atlanta seems like a team that would be open to a salary dump in exchange for a pick. Guys like Dedmon and Lin could also help in the playoff run. Maybe even ask about Taurean Prince, who’s a FA after next season. They may not want to pay him and his numbers are similar to Oubre, so it’s not a crazy ask.

There’s no chance in hell Olshey makes this trade (or anything involving CJ) in the middle of a playoff run. This is more of an offseason move.

It looks like (some/most) Magic fans are completely done with Gordon. He's been pretty bad this year, especially shooting which has never improved. What do you think Gordon does well that would compliment Dame and Nurk?
