I’d rather have Moe for one year at $11M (plus bird rights) than spend $80M or whatever on Harrison Barnes.

Harkless to Detroit for Galloway, Galloway to OKC for Patterson, Patterson and two future 2nds to someone else as a dump?

While Nurk is out, the entire rotation is messed up. Even if you keep Hark, there is going to be a talent downgrade somewhere.
 
I wonder if Charlotte would do ET, Hark, and 2020 first for Marvin Williams and Cody Zeller.

What does this accomplish? I dont think were all that better afterwards... And it takes away all flexibility in 2020 because we trade a pick for a mediocre big who will make $15M next year.

We cut a little salary, Marvin Williams is a decent enough 3&D stretch 4 (shot .366 last season) and Zeller would be a good backup big/replacement for Nurk until he is back. Certainly better than Meyers.

It opens up a bit more to try and lure Hood or go grab Carroll or Ariza with the MLE.
 
I wish I knew what Markieff is gonna get in FA. His net is so wide, I could see him getting more than the tax MLE, but I could also seem him having to settle for the BAE or something.
 
Let’s just say by gods good grace Hood would return on the MLE AND we did that trade... you’re telling me this isn’t a better roster than what we have today?

He would be great in Portland. He saw it first hand how good we are, but money..

Looking at Neil’s trade history with Portland, it seems like he makes a lot of offseason trades the week before FA. The TROB, Rolo, and Batum trades for example. I think we’ll see something go down next week.

No matter what, I just hope he can turn expiring into a rotational player that can play and not be hot garbage 85% of the time.

Probably not right away but give him minutes and he will be better overall as a player by the deadline.
 
Can anyone think of any somewhat realistic way that we could land Randle? There isn’t one is there? I read some article about the jazz letting Favors walk and signing Randle to a 4/80 mil deal.

I’m actually of the opinion that Little is overrated a bit defensively, while being underrated offensively. He has one years experience of team concepts, and we know hes already had his struggles with it. Besides, defense isn’t usually a thing that translates immediately, regardless of ones reputation in college. There’s going to be an adjustment period, it’s inevitable. Guys like Collins who come in and defend are more of the exception. But he was coached up his entire life by his dad. He had a head start. Little will take some time. I’m down for dumping Harkless, but that’s why I think we should also sign a cheap vet like Sefolosha. Someone good enough to play, but not to the point where he’d get in Littles way once he’s ready to take over.

With a bench of Neto, Exum, O’Neale, Niang, and Bradley? They lack depth.

Marvin Willaims is aging and no better than Harkless. Zeller isnt any better than Collins or Meyers, and takes away all flexibility in 2020.

Just no worth it. We need a legit upgrade to take on money for 2020.

A couple career 10/5 guys doesn’t move the needle for me. I didn’t want Marvin 5 years ago, don’t want him know.

Maybe, but as desperate as they allegedly are to get their payroll under control - they should be giving us a draft pick!
