From everything I’ve heard Winslow/two seconds for Vanderbilt is all but done. Heard along the same lines of a deal from multiple in Blazer media now.

let's see....Winslow makes 4.097M; Vanderbilt makes 4.374M. That would put Portland about 200K OVER the tax line. I can't believe the Vulcans would sign off on losing 23M in tax disbursements for Vanderbilt so that would mean there was another trade coming up too

I'd be just fine with a Winslow for Vanderbilt swap

They love Dante. Patty Mills told Brooklyn about a month ago he wanted out and really wanted to go to GS (wife’s home and he went to Saint Marys). Brooklyn tried but really the only way the money/trade works was Divencenzo. GS wouldn’t let DD go they love him and he’s been playing well. Moody I think they don’t care about. There is a power struggle with Kerr and others. They want to see Wiseman play. Kerr won’t. The end is near.

vanderbilt is a rotational player on a ridiculously good deal (~4 mil a year for 1.5 more seasons). getting that for just Winslow and a few meaningless 2nds would be a massive coup.

we can move off keon or GB i'm guessing, if we're hellbent on getting under.

Im surprised Portland has any 2nds... looks like it would be to be '24 (Cha or Min) and a '27 pick.

This move would put Portland in the tax. I wonder if they can find a move to stay out of it

If you’re going to look at the big picture why not trade Dame and get a big return package? We need to be thinking of how do we win now, not later.

I would bet if they have that deal done they're working on a deal for Hart that brings back less salary than it sends out to offset the other. I think you're right that the Vulcans will not go into the tax this season.

A propos Mo Bamba, I've heard from Magic's fans, that he is basically same problem as Nurk is. Plays very good game and
disappears for the next two. So that would be another broken player for Dame to fix and I don't think this is what he needs. I would love Ayton though.

GB3 will likely be sent somewhere for a Top 55 protected 2nd and get absorbed. Problem solved.

Hope we have had a scout at Orlando games lately. Has Isaac recovered from his ACL injury? Why does @Rastapopoulos hate Bamba?
Looking at them I noticed one thing: Isaac kept getting significantly better every year before his injury. Bamba going the other direction. Isaac clearly a better defender, aveaged 2 steals and 3 blocks per 36 before his injury and better advanced defensive ratings than Bamba. In fact, after my research would clearly prefer Isaac if he is healthy, and kind of turned off by Bamba.

Yes, Ayton is better than Mo, but the difference in salary is 20 million, which of course we would have to give up much more for him.
Per Orlando fans, is Mo inconsistent on offense or defense? Because I don't care as much about offense from my center. I just want him to defend, rebound, set screens, and not turn the ball over.

Olshey did spend 2nd round picks at a high rate. Blazers don't own any of their 2nd's till 2027. They have either the Charlotte or Minny 2nd in 2024; and the Pels in 2027. Not much in the way of 2nd round leverage for Portland....just another olshey legacy. And if two 2nd's are outgoing in a Vanderbilt trade, Portland probably doesn't have any till 2027

as for cutting enough salary to stay under the tax, before a back of bench trade, I'd wonder if the savings would happen in a bigger trade like either Nurk or Hart outgoing

if the Blazers are going to have an inconsistent C, it could be argued it's better to have one with 1-year/10M left on his contract rather than 3-years/55M left

well, the Winslow for Vanderbilt trade would put Portland 200K over the tax line

Brown traded would send out 1.56M. Signing a player to a minimum salary would be prorated and less than 40% of the annual minimum. So they'd be back under the line

If it's for Justise and second rounders this is a great move in a vacuum and hopefully the start to a great deadline. If it is Justise and seconds, I would almost guarantee the team has something on the table for Josh that brings back less money.
