Solid addition for infield debth.

I just don't really see the need for yet another IF utility player when we already have Torreyes..unless the Yanx are planning on doing a lot of platooning with Gleyber Torres and Andujar, but that doesn't make sense either.
... maybe they're thinking that Drury will be the "Plan B" if either Torres or Andujar don't pan out....but though he's a nice player, Drury's numbers are due in part to the fact that he played 1/2 his game in a very hitter friendly park in Arizona but he still strikes out a lot and seldom takes walks which makes his OBP very poor. Andujar on the other hand, seldom strikes out and is much better as a contact hitter.
...I suppose they may need more IF depth because to be honest, 2B and 3B are the only question marks this early in the season.

...and again, Torreyes has already shown he's a serviceable 2B/3Bman so I dunno, this is a head scratcher for me...here's to hoping Boone and Cashman are on the same page and hoping they have a "plan".

The Yankees traded Jabari Blash to the Angels for a Player to be named later or cash considerations.

Somebody always gets hurt and with young players you never know when they finally click. Plus, he makes no money and they got him for really nothing.

Rangers agree to terms with Jesse Chavez as per Jon Heyman.

Yeah, but my only question is why we would need TWO backups for 2B/3B, especially since Ronald Torreyes and Drury are about equal...just seems like a waste of an extra roster spot to me. Plus, I don't think to offensive production from Torreyes/Drury would be any better than Torrez/Andujar.

I agree on the need for ONE backup but not TWO. Hell, the way things stand now, we have 7 IFers and 6 OFers...and I just think that extra roster spot would be better served with another pitcher...just my 2 cents.

I'm thinking the Yankees still have moves in mind. Listening to WFAN last night they still sit $40 million below the tax threshold.

Pirates acquire Corey Dickerson from The Rays for Daniel Hudson, Minor League Inf Tristan Gray, and Cash as per MLB Trade Rumors.

Mess, I gotta believe the same thing...no way we can open the season with 13 infielders and outfielders...depending on whether they will carry 2 or 3 catchers that would only leave 9-10 spots left for pitchers...most MLB teams have either 12 or 13 pitchers on their rosters.
... Cashman simply must find a way to jettison at least 1 of either Ellsbury, Gardner, or Frazier. If they trade Ellsbury or Gardner they'll lower their payroll at least another $10 Mil...(I'm assuming the Yanx would have to eat at least 1/2 of Ellsbury's salary...and Gardner is due a minimum of $13.5 Mil over the next 2 years with the 2nd year being an team option/buyout)

From there the Yanx can either make another big move before opening day or they can see how they stand at the trade deadline and make a move accordingly.

Tigers have agreed to a 1 Year Contract with Fransisco Liriano as per Jon Morosi.

I see the Tiggers are going to be content with another sub-par team and year; again...! My buddy John's rolling in his grave, can hear him moaning all the way from Detroit.... "you corksucking fargin bastages- content with a shitty team- ye' fkng Ilitch's"...

Logan Morrison agreed to a Contract with The Twins as per Jon Morosi.

Yankees sign Adam Lind to a Minor League Deal as per Bryan Hoch.

Go back to '16, what did the Yankees have in ST? Mercenaries and aging Prima Donnas. Fast forward to now, yep we've seen signings and additions that have created team competition. Gotta earn your way on to this team. This team is flat out stacked to the point that its has solved the "what ifs" pretty well position player wise.

I think we're going to see the continuous flow of traffic back and forth, with numerous players, for the minors to the Bronx, back to the minors, back to the Bronx etcetera etcetera....

No different than what the Bums did a few years ago, with 9 second baseman 6 shortstops and a constant flow back and forth to the minors, to Chavez Ravine etc etc. At least the Yanks have Depth now, like they've never had before, that's a good thing....

Near the end of todays Yankees/Boston Game, the NESN Crew mentioned that the Yankees were trying to work a trade that would send Ellsbury to Arizona. They did say in addition that Ellsbury is perceived as no higher than a 5th outfielder. Don't know where they got their information from but it would be nice to see Ellbury go elsewhere.
