At the point of his opt-out following the 2020 season (his age-30 campaign), Stanton will have $218 million left on his contract. ...considering some "experts" are forecasting that Harper may get 10 years/$400 Mil, Stanton may have reason to believe that he might be better off opting out of his contract with the Yanx.

...fwiw, I'm trying to take this deal with tempered enthusiasm...I remember the day the Yanx the Yanx got ARod (it was on my birthday) and I remember how exited I was...not saying that Giancarlo will be another ARod nightmare but I just hope we don't end up regretting this deal.
