Yankees to sign Wade LeBlanc as per MLBTradeRumors.Com whoever that is. :lol:

...this deal makes no sense...unless of course, it's a precursor to something else.

...why else would the Yanx give a guaranteed $1 Mil to a guy they don't need who's a 33 year old journeyman reliever with a career ERA of 4.40 ?

...as near as I can tell, the Yanx' 2018 payroll currently stands at $175 Mil which leaves them $24 Mil to spend, and that's without getting rid of Ellsbury or Gardner or Robertson....can't believe they're paying Chapman and Robertson $30 Mil this year...also can't believe they're giving Betances over $5 Mil this year...can anyone explain to me what he did last year to justify that much money?

I'd rather have Mo' back at age 48, than Chapman and/or Betances.

It's going to be an interesting year BP wise, to see whose going to rise to the surface over t/Yr. D-Rob's a FA after next yr., Chapman as you know can opt out after 019. Betances needs to have a yr of his life, prove his wildness was a fluke or not...

I'd like to see one of t/BP youngsters develop enough take the set up & Closer Job(s) away; but don't expect to see it this year....

veteran left-hander Wade LeBlanc to a minor league contract with an invitation to Spring Training. The deal will pay him $1M at the big league level. LeBlanc can also opt-out of the deal at the end of camp if he doesn’t make the MLB roster.

The 33-year-old LeBlanc was very briefly a Yankee back in 2014, allowing two runs in one inning in his only appearance with the team. He spent last season with the Pirates, throwing 68 relief innings with a 4.50 ERA (4.28 FIP) and okay-ish strikeout (19.1%) and walk (6.0%) rates. Lefties hit .216/.270/.389 (.279 wOBA) against him.

agreed makes no sense. It's a WTF move imo.... 5+ guys competing for 1 spot.

The Yankees have six relievers (Aroldis Chapman, David Robertson, Chad Green, Dellin Betances, Tommy Kahnle, Adam Warren) for seven bullpen spots right now, so LeBlanc will compete against Chasen Shreve and a bunch of youngsters (Ben Heller, Jonathan Holder, Domingo German, etc.) for that final reliever roster spot.

Jacoby Ellsbury has vacated his NYC Apt. as per Bronx Bombers Beat. Now I don't know what that means but I will try to find out.

Let us all pray he never comes back!!

His rent will be a lot cheaper in Arizona.

Say what??? :lol:

...it's an old Maria Muldaur tune...loosely translated, "Ay, digo venga amigo...." means "Oh , I say come , friend...";

I was raised in the heart of the city,
Raised up and put down and told what to do.
Now looking back it just seems like a pity;
I think that I must have been some kind of fool.
Ay, for the things I could show you,
Ay, for the things you would see,
Ay, digo venga, amigo,
Ay, to my fair country.

But now you will find me out here every morning,
Out on the beach or else down in the square,
Drinking tequila and wearing huarches,
Smelling the pool blossom scent in the air.

Ay, for the things I could show you,
Ay, for the things you would see,
Ay, digo venga, amigo,
Ay, to my fair country.

Bananas and coconuts, fish from the ocean,
Sun in the morning and music at night;
Everyone seems to pass by in slow motion;
Pregunta, Amigo? What more could be right?
Ay, for the things I could show you,
Ay, for the things you would see,
Ay, digo venga, amigo,
Ay, to my fair country.

Gringo en Mexico, surrenda y gano.
Gringo en Mexico, mi pais hermosa.
Ah, yes, mi pais hermosa.
Ah, yes, mi pais hermosa.
Ah, yes, a grande mariposa.
Ah, yes, mi pais hermosa.
Hermosa, hermosa...

^^^Yeah, she was a babe...and had what I call, "smokey and sleepy bedroom eyes".

...dark hair, dark eyes, and dark skin always did it for me.

Muldaur had one helluva entourage of musicians back her up, on recordings, live et al. Or the whose who of musicians back then....

a few other great musicians of that time, all female, all dark haired, and all played together at one time or another; OR- each played each others music.....i.e. Muldaur, Wendy Waldman, Karla Bonoff, and of course t/latter 2 began as back-up singers/vocalists to t/Queen: Linda Rondstadt, or Linda covered their tunes, i.e. "Someone to Lay Down Beside Me" (Bonoff), or "Vaudeville Man"-Waldman, covered by Muldaur; as well as several other tunes Muldaur covered of Waldman's and vice versa...Waldman also covered Muldaurs "Gringo En Mexico"...all 3 dark haired vocalist/musicians....
of course there was Bonnie Raitt a Queen in her own right....(red)
Nicolette Larson...(golden)
Valerie Carter....(blonde)

Ay digo venga amigo, (Dinglefknberry)....come come come amigo, to AZ, we will shower you in Tacos....

I saw both Waldman and Bonoff play The Golden Bear in Huntington Beach in 75. The Golden Bear was a landmark of a nightclub for upcoming musicians, torn down in 86. Couldn't meet earthquake regualtions...Also saw Muldaur, Rick Danko & Levon Helm, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, J.D. Souther, just a few musicians you could see in the small <300 seat venue....

PS- Waldman also co-wrote a tune that would become a hit for Vanessa Williams- 'Save the Best For Last'...

Yankees have announced that they have acquired 3rd Baseman Travis Shaw from the Brewers in exchange for Jacoby Ellsbury and Minor League Pitcher Albert Abreu as per Yankees PR Department.

^^^ Can't wait to see if this actually happens...but if it does, well,

WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO !!!!!

Edit; ...I can see how this would benefit the Yanx greatly, but I don't see why the Brewers would give a solid 3B/1Bman who is cheap and under team control for 4 more years and finished with 31 HRs and 101 RBIs last year.
Of course there are rumors the Brewers are in on Moustakas but especially considering the contract it would take to sign him and having to give up a draft pick, is Moustakas really that much of an upgrade over Shaw?
And IF he can stay healthy, Ellsbury would be an upgrade over the Brewers' current CFer...not sure how much of Ellsbury's contract the Yanx will have to eat...I'mm guessing at least half.

...the way I read it, the only way the Brewers trade Shaw is if they're sure of signing Moustakas.

Checked different sports venues for that one and if true I'd add in a huge Yahoo as well. I'd agree that the deal is a bit of a head scratcher, Shaw turned out to be a pretty good player over in Milwaukee and God only knows why the Brewers want Ellsbury. But if true good show.

...I gotta believe that either the Yanx have to eat a large portion of Ellsbury's contract, OR the Yanx will add another prospect to finalize the deal.

...the other head scratcher is why would Ellsbury wave his NTC and agree to go to Milwaukee unless it's because he's certain that he'll be the everyday CFer ?
