Trade target once the Blazers core develops?

Doncic is a point. Needs the ball in his hand. How would he work with Scoot who also needs the ball in his hands?

Pass on no defense Doncic.

Yeah, I love Doncic and when we were trading Dame I had a fantasy about replacing him with Doncic somehow, but with Scoot on board I don't like him as a target. We need to be looking at guys like Mikal Bridges, Scottie Barnes (YES PLEASE!!!), Jeremy Sochan, Tari Eason, one of the Thompson twins maybe, guys like that. Young wings who look like they are two way players with the emphasis being on defense at the wing. I am also wanting low usage, low but efficient scoring, and hopefully a good three ball. I recognize Barnes is currently suspect at the 3 and Sochan and Eason have even less of a resume. I'm just pointing to the prototype of what we should be looking for. I also am interested in PF's who can hit the midrange and 3-ball and defend and rebound like crazy, like a young Al Horford. I'm not sure any of these guys will be available in even the medium term, but that's the template of guys I want. I still see Sharpe as a SG best paired with Scoot in the back court. I also see Simons, Grant, Brogdon, and even Timelord as trade chips and not longer term members of the team unless Simons is willing to come of the bench Vinnie "the Microwave" Johnson style.

Was one of the players I was most interested in for Dame.

But sounds like Masai is just a ridiculous trade negotiator to the point it's almost worthless even attempting to trade with him. Now he did kind of give up too much to the Spurs for Poetl, so perhaps its ok to sell him something, but I'm not sure you want to ever try and buy anything from him.

Feel like he might demand Scoot, Sharpe, 4 unprotected picks, and something else for Barnes.
Well, unless they win a chip in the next 5ish years, Barnes will be one of those guys who requests a trade if he doesn’t take the supermax deal.

So it’s doesn’t really matter what Masai thinks, he’ll probably be gone before we get to that point.

Actually one potential huge benefit of the Blazers owning 3 completely unprotected years of Bucks picks is the bargaining position the Blazers could be in if the Bucks do decide to trade Lillard and the Blazers are interested in making an offer.

Look at how many dozens if not hundreds of proposals we've had of re-acquiring our pick from Chicago. That is a pick that is guaranteed to be #15 or worse. Imagine how desperate we would be to get it back if it could be a lottery pick and even #1 overall?

Might be able to trade back for Dame for a single swap or something in a few years if we ever got to the point that makes sense.

I believe wholeheartedly he will be a Blazer again someday.

I don’t know. I thought that would be the problem with Harden & CP3 and they went 65-17. Having more than 1 great player who can handle the ball is a good thing it turns out.

Hmm. Doncic being harden and scoot cp3? good point. Didn't they get exposed and ousted early in the playoffs though? I don't recall.

Man Houston has a ridiculous amount of young talent at the forward position. I just saw Cam Whitemore two-hand jam with ease. Weren't he knees supposed to be toast and that's why he fell? Coulda fooled me! We need to target one of the innumerable wing/forwards that Houston has for Ant.

Houston, Brooklyn and Toronto all have 7 or 8 forwards who legitimately should get minutes. Not just forwards on their roster, but talented contributors that I think could be impact guys very soon for Portland.
I'm even hoping Ayton is traded, when his value peaks, because of his inconsistent effort in the past. I think he's gonna be unhappy with his role in the offense, unless he somehow becomes the #1 option. I want an unselfish, rim-protecting, rebounder that has good mobility. Claxton exemplifies that for me. I think a guy destined to be a very good two-way center that will do all those things is Christian Koloko.
