Laker fans are saying they should save their picks for a bigger needle mover. But they only have two picks. They don’t have the resources for someone like Markkanen.
But they are the Lakers, watch them get Lauri for one first and filler

This is probably asking for too much, right?

Nate--this is an incredible point. 100000%.

My guess is he's lying because fans don't want to hear that this is about saving picks on the backend to remain flexible in case LeBron leaves, or AD is hurt for a season, or AD asks out.

Which actually makes a ton of sense.

But it's pretty disingenuous.

I think he is guessing / fantasy in his head cause he said like a couple FA's to Lakers the other day and then DeMarr to Lakers so I think pulling BEEP out of his ass BUT I hope he is right

No clue who this guy is, probably just guessing

I'm listening to his Twitter "spaces" Laker chat right now--the people on it are fully convinced that the Rui+??+1 pick offer has been made by LA, and Portland is just waiting on LA to offer up the second pick. That that is basically the only holdup on this deal.

They're also fully convinced that Grant is a massive upgrade over Rui, that he will be a solid POA defender for them, and that a Grant/Lebron/AD frontcourt matches up favorably with Denver's Porter/Gordon/Jokic trio.

This dude posted this in Octobober 2023. I don't think the Lakers used Mamba jersey at all. In other words, dude is just making his own stories

Who's better, Hachi or Vando?

Rui makes more sense for both teams. To me, they have a similar skill set. Rui shot 42% from 3 this year.

For defense and hustle, they keep Vanderbilt and his long but team-friendly contract, and we get more minutes to play Camara.

Rui would actually be a nice rotational forward for this team, because he's a good shooter, and efficient on offense, something we sorely lack. Rui and Devi are a decent pair of forwards.

Not that either are defensive juggernauts, but Rui has the same long wing span as Grant but is 20 lbs heavier.
Not sure if that matters, but it did surprise me.

It's nice to have someone that can shoot without being a chucker like Grant is.
