I am trying to be nice and I was not trying to talk down to people

I think since I have been back I have not been an asshole now that should not get any applause credit or whatever but I do realize before I left I was a total ass to alot of members of the forum.

Illmatic - if you have a problem with me tell me cause others do similar things and do not get called out

Yet still allergic to the quote function

Also some teams have an actual impetus to trade now before the turn of the season on July 1 due to second apron hell (cough: Dallas).

Perhaps @Ripcity4life77 is the one that needs to realize things before talking down to people.
Fairly certain I have red that any moves made after end of season, but before July 1st will still qualify teams to the different aprons

I wouldn’t get to greedy with trade proposals or you will surely be disappointed. But maybe I am wrong and we kill the night!??!
The only thing Cronin will kill is the dreams of any Blazer fan hoping for significant trades to dramatically reshape this team.

Well there appears to be some egg on my face then.

It happens. But you just proved him wrong, so good on you, mate!

Hadn't heard that, thanks for the update.

That actually makes a ton of sense, they probably fixed that with the new CBA. It would be a bit of a apron loophole if teams could do the trade a few days earlier to duck the apron the whole next year.

You guys do realize some trades might have to wait for the new league year to start -- right ?

The only team that has been linked to Grant that pretty much has to get a deal done in the next couple days before the new league year is the Mavs cause of the CBA.

We the fans might have to be a little more patient in terms of trades UNLESS we use a vet to trade up in the draft.
At this point all trades will be subject to the cap requirements of the '24-'25 season regardless.

:D to be clear, I was like 85% joking/flipping you shit. I've seen others call you out on it, and will admit that it makes the "board on the cell phone" experience more challenging, but was just having fun, you're good.

All good -- Ill got on me for no reason so was a little annoyed by that but all good -- let's just enjoy the draft and hope this turns out great for the Blazers

Who else could get traded?

I would guess Simons but with Brogdon gone, it's not as much of a push. Let's see what happens tomorrow. Ant might wait until the Trade Deadline.

Then maybe Grant and then Thybulle. Williams I think is also a Deadline guy.

If Orlando strikes out with Klay they turn their attention to Ant Simons?
At this point, I only see us being in a position of strength. With the addition of Avdija and Clingan after Night 1…

WCJ + a 1st? That’s laughable. Even Black + a 1st, I’m holding out for better. I would absolutely take Ausar + whatever for Ant for anything the Magic have to offer. With all the wing talent they’ve accumulated, they’ll have to get rid of one if they ever want to find any kind of spacing for Cade.

If I had my way, given any sense of realism, my ideal result after Night 2 would be…

1) Drafting Comche or Djurisic with one of our picks, a ready now player or intriguing player like Newton or Mogbo with the other pick.

2) Trade Ant for Ausar + a 1st and filler.

3) Trade Grant for Kenecht, a future lotto-protected 1st, and filler.

4) Trade Thybulle for whatever. I literally mean whatever, I prefer him to not be on the roster next season.

Pull the plug, start fresh.

Scoot/(vet)/(Newton?)
Shae/Kenecht/Rupert
Ausar/Avdija/Murray
Avdija/Camara/Walker
DA/Clingan/Reath

There obviously has to be a lot of internal growth in shooting, but if this is the floor of our roster in the future, I’m going to be really excited.

The fanpro site said the Lakers are unable to trade multiple players in a deal due to being over the "2nd apron". And that would be needed to deal them Grant.

So Philly selected McCain with #16. That is not bad for Portland if we were interested in sending Grant there. (Plus future picks)

Orlando selected DaSilva with the 18th. That would not have been my preference but maybe it is for Joe and Chauncey.
Sucks that the Lakers took Knecht right before them. Or maybe it was lucky for those wanting Ant gone. If they would have drafted Knecht then they would not needed Ant

There are more deals coming, it's just a matter of when.

"When" as in days, or "when" as in months/next trade deadline?

Would be exciting to get some draft capital back for Grant but after how many times Cronin has stood pat over the years while talking about being "aggressive" I'm not sure I expect more moves soon.

There were trade deadlines, Dame/Jrue deadline for avoiding camp, tax deadline from yesterdays trade that involved picks/cap space. Cronin has done nearly zero trades since taking over for Olshey when there wasn't some sort of deadline he was against. Acquiring Grant from Detroit was the only one.

I think the Lakers are close enough to the 2nd apron they can do a Grant trade with the right package and other minor moves to stay under. DeAngelo is likely opting out which may have been in your fanpro site.

Simons for Ausar actually does make some sense, Detroit really needs shooting. Not sure their guard rotation would make sense with just that one deal.

Yeah, I probably wouldn't be opposed to a Grant(+Walker or Murray) for Knecht/Hachimura/future pick deal with LA
