I think we'll move all three before camp. I just think there's going to be a ton of demand for both Jerami and Ant from teams trying to win now. The teams knocking on the door and desperate for a title will go hard after Jerami and I think some of the young teams who need shooting will go hard after Ant and I don't think there's any reason for us to keep them if the deal brings back good value in picks and/or prospects.

Also your damn right we should trade Rob. If a team offers a few seconds for that dude we should pounce. If they'd give us a FRP for Rob and a future second we should pounce on that too.

I just think there will be deals that will make it easy for us to move these guys. There might also be a deal that makes moving Tisse easy. I think a team would really have to get up to get Ayton before we're able to see him and Clingan in a rotation together but I just think if teams give us fair value for Jerami, Ant and Tisse then they're gone. Rob they might get for a bargain.

I'd love to see if Memphis would do this:

Actually, right now here's the three trades that I think make sense:

Out:
Simons
Grant
Timelord

In:
Black
WCJ
Kennard
2025 Denver FRP
2026 GSW FRP
2028 GSW FRP
2025 Mem FRP (lottery protected)

I'd try to flip WCJ and Kennard.

Yeah if you are going to flip WCJ and Kennard these would be nice trades for us and trades I could definitely see the other teams being interested in. Are you thinking that we buy CP3 out because I think he might be able to be flipped too?

We don't have a clear replacement for Grant yet. I think Deni can play the three for now.

Simons is in the way of Scoot.

Timelord needs to be deal if he's healthy. We can't afford to play him and have him get hurt again.

I am so confused. So you don't want to tank another year? I am fine with that, but the consensus seems to be to get rid of any players who won't be here for the long haul.
And since Grant is the oldest and has the biggest contract this seems to be conflicting. Yes, we still probably won't make the playoffs even with him, but with other teams tanking, we might not be in the bottom 10.

Grant doesn’t seem to have even a small impact on our tanking lol

But having him can help Scoot develop. Give him someone to pass to. Simons and Timelord are standing in the way of young guys getting minutes, but I don’t see a clear replacement for Grant.

Come on Nate how the hell is Ant keeping him from getting minutes? I keep reading this from other posters and it makes no sense.
If he got 28.5 minutes per game as a rookie, do you expect that to go down?

Who starts next season?

Do you think Simons comes off the bench? I would find that highly unlikely. If I had to guess, if no moves are made this offseason (and I doubt that's the case, but if it is) here is who the starting lineup would be on opening day:

Simons
Sharpe
Avdija
Grant
Ayton

Bench would be

Scoot
Thybulle
Camara
Walker

You don't think Clingan makes the rotation?

3 way swap, ayton to NO, and either something like CJ to Orlando, or Ingram to Sacramento, assets from 3rd team to us?
You think there's any chance that the Kings would give up the good Murray brother in a deal like that?

Wouldn't hate this...

OK lets say that happens, (and I agree with you that it won't) does it matter who starts between Scoot and Ant? Like last year they will all get their minutes even if they all remained healthy for 82 games. But of course they won't all stay healthy so they will all
end up starting and finishing games during stretches of the season.

I'd wonder if Sharpe will be benched instead of Scoot....

....even though the 2-man combo of Scoot/Simons was the worst 2 man combo on the team. On average, they had a net/100-possessions of -20.4. Yikes! The worst combo Portland had in 2022-23 was Little/Sharpe at -10.7

Zach Lavine, the 2020s Shareef Abdur-Rahim.

If Detroit craps out on signing free agents they should take that first round pick, same as OKC used to do. Or maybe Brooklyn should send Ben Simmons over for him.

LaVine has actually had really solid numbers over the last 4 seasons. They fell off a bit this season. He's a prolific scoring SG who plays weak defense. Kind of an empty-calorie player as a #1 or #2 option. That sure seems familiar

If we first sent our Simons and Grant I'd consider it. All 3 trades should add a long term piece, it's fine having one of those players but we don't need 2-3 of them.
