F this. 2 hours and counting for a drive that should take 30 minutes maximum.

Waze, it's an app. Really accurate, finds shortcuts thru traffic. Also it will tell you estimated time to arrive, so even if everything is fucked up, you'll know and can do something else instead of sit in traffic.

Doesn't do much if everything is fucked up.

Sure it does. Check the routes it's showing, if they are all fucked up just hit the gym, store, movies, better to do something fun for an hour then sit 2 hours in traffic.

What Nate said.

What I said to Nate.

May not work for the exact situation you're in right now but I've been in Portland my entire life and it's shown me a few different shortcuts that I never knew existed. Cool app.

An hour plus an hour of traffic still = 2 hours. Maybe still two hours of traffic, or it could even worsen in that time.

No, it was from tualatin to 82nd back roads. Didn't even F with 205.

Next time try it. Or not, don't really care, lol. Just throwing out something there that I've found really helpful.

Everyone knows dogs can't drive.

Traffic is the main reason I will not move back to PDX or live in another congested city. I moved out of Portland 2.5 years ago, thinking after school I'd be back. Now, I'm done. I go bs k to visit and spend so much time driving it's just frustrating. I'm in a small town in CA now, it's ok, but I want to end up moving back to Walla Walla. No traffic, ever. Calm, nice people. Beautiful scenery, great restaurants and a plenty to do if you are in the Wine industry.

All these assholes moving here.

It's becoming more rare where I meet someone new that was born here.

Portland was better 10 years ago.

Even better 40 years ago.

TriMet and the simultaneous onslaught of California gangs back in the 80's pretty much destroyed basic livability, and it's gone rapidly downhill ever since. Now it is a rotting corpse of decayed infrastructure populated largely by criminals and freeloaders from other states and other countries who contribute nothing.

Wait... People move from other states and countries who get to live in oregon for free? What the hell! I thought this was a sellers market!

I do virtually the same commute.
Do you take nyburg through West Linn? Ill do that sometimes, or cut through Lake O and cross the sellwood.
Depending on where on 82nd, I know some awesome backroads to get me right down to 205 right before the marcum bridge. This route goes through Multnomah Village.
