Thanks, JL. (May I call you JL?)

If you must. The jlprk is my mother's initials, so you're calling me a couple of girl's names, but I haven't told you that, so you don't know, so what do I care.

There's a fine line between humorous put-downs and sarcasm. My comments like, "Alexander is height-challenged. This will be a problem throughout his 15-year NBA career" probably get read seriously when they mean the opposite. I'm watching this short ultra-raw player thinking, he's 2 years away from being 2 years away, but the reader maybe thinks that I really think he'll last 15 years.

Alexander needs 2 years to become a substitute center, then 2 years to convert to substitute forward. Montero will be a starting SF before that.

Luis Montero - I hope we keep this kid. He's got talent.

Really appreciate your posts Jlprk, amazed at the overall talent of our entire roster. It seems likes everybody has the potential to be a player.

Montero looked great, I like that they're both getting a chance. Cliff didn't surprise me, this is kind of what I expected including the few games it'll take him to get in game shape. Montero surprised me very much, didn't see this potential in summer league, this was a very impressive performance

BUPGOTF?

So much for my two guesses....jesus loves people's republic of korea or jail park....boy was I wrong

I wouldn't word it that he put on an overall performance, just that he displayed excellent all-around skills. It's like the difference between getting an A in your Theater Arts class vs. producing a whole popular stage play. He can't put it together into anything constructive. It's like when Batum would show glimpses of great defense in his first couple of seasons.

Jesus does love North Korea. Well at least he did when I stopped going to church in 1968. But that would bankrupt the military-industrial complex, so keep it under your hat.

I couldn't make the thread last night. I'm ashamed and disappointed. Maybe tonight, if I have enough time for mental preparation. Go Abalone!

You have invented a rather fishy excuse. It's important; otherwise Sly would have typed the thread title in lower case letters.

I think Montero is going to be a great addition to the Blazers guard rotation someday

I just had a momentary power failure. My computer immediately restarted, but now I'm thinking, what will happen to all the posters I'm empowered to take care of today in this thread if I suddenly disappear? So now, while I'm still here, I want to encourage you to keep the thread going. Don't cry for me. Continue your lives with humor and humility. Don't get drunk just because I'm gone. Get stoned because I'm gone.

I was reading a Guardian article from Google News, about the Democratic debate. Supposed to be live, and I wanted to know whether there's a live debate right now. The crash happened just as I clicked on a Twitter post with an embedded video of Sanders and Clinton in a debate, unknown whether past or present. Could the NSA have been sending me a message? If so, the next step is for a beautiful seductress to show up at my door while I'm commenting on today's thread, leaving all of you in my charge in limbo. You must carry on. Don't grieve for me, Carolina. We have to win this game today and you must let nothing, nothing stand in our way.

It's windy, banging on my window. Unless that's her. We shall soon know my fate.

Timezones confuses me. Is the game starting in 45 minutes ? If that's the case I might watch a bit of it.

We lost power for a second not long ago..heavy winds..could be we're all headed for OZ and the yellow brick road! Hang onto your sneakers folks...there's a storm brewing in the northwest!

Yes. I got on at 6:09 and the score was 16-9, us up. Now 16-11, timeout. I don't get it, assuming they started at 6:00, even if exactly then.

Our 2 players aren't on the floor right now. Were they called back? If so, why? There is no Blazer game tonight. A 6 foot 10 player is also assigned, Kevon Looney, and gets featured time. He's playing right now.

The box score says each played 5 minutes already and got good stats.

NEXT GAME 6:00 PDT TONIGHT, SUNDAY MARCH 13.

Last night, Standard Time became Daylight Time!!!!

No Blazer game today. You have no excuse. Be there or be square. Video:

Montero has 6 pts 1 assist, 1 rebound and 2 steals in 5 minutes...Alexander has 2 pts and 2 boards in the same time...not bad! (posted in case of a jlprk power glitch)

Looks like the 2 teams just scored a lot of points in the early minutes. Tickets were sold selling a visiting Baron Davis (he's promoted on their site for this game) and he's sitting out the game on the bench.

Montero gets in for the last minute of 2 of the 1st quarter, does nothing. We're up 29-27. No Alexander yet. I will call them M and A if I type fast. I might call the Delaware 87ers Deli, thinking of a Philly hoagie sandwich.

Montero stepped out of bounds with the ball, exactly where he did it a couple of times yesterday, the left block while preparing to take off dribbling. Yesterday he also got stripped there twice, besides stepping out the other times. A enters the game.

36-29 after A makes an 8-foot floater on a set play, then a dunk. Both from an Xavier Henry assist. Deli calls time out for a hamburger and Coke.

M looks shorter and thinner today than yesterday. Like 6-6 vs. 6-9. Sometimes he looks short and sometimes tall. I need better seats and stronger theater binoculars.

M brought it down helter skelter, went up in the air to pass alley oop to A, A wasn't there, M was embarrassed. A dunked it a minute later.

A is doing better on offense than last night, but is still a sieve on defense. He is one year away from being good at being one of those shotblocking-only, no other defense centers. 49-43 we lead, 4:32 left in the half.
