On a positive note, it was great seeing Joel back. Loved the standing O he got from the Blazer fans there.

There was a night in 2005, when the Blazers played Sacramento; Joel had a terrific game offensively and defensively, I believe nearly 20 points and well over 10 rebounds. We lost the game, but I remember thinking how great it was that Joel played well. I recognized then that the team was riding the bottom.

We are there again.

EDIT: http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/200501180SAC.html here's the game.

LOL. I remember that game well. It was more fun than tonight. I thought we won that one.

I checked the score at the half, it looked good. I check the score at the end. All of a sudden I am thankful that Comcast screws me out of watching the games!

Nate..."Evidentally they're not responding to me"....Interviewer: Where do you go from here? "Home to Portland"

Nate: "They aren't responding to me."

And there it is.

Somebody always has to be the last to know, but it's never good when it's the coach.

I always love when coaches see the team playing like shit and say it's because they aren't listening to them. Maybe it's also because your offense is a pile of shit?

So do people still think we will get things ironed out and make the playoffs?

I still do. For these reasons:

1) We've been consistently playing very well in the first half. The personnel is there to play well and get a lead.

2) These are the exact same players who dominated 4th quarters in our first three games of the year. The blueprint for success is in there. We just have to use it again.

3) Joel will make a HUGE difference going forward. Yes, we lost tonight, but Joel was pretty great and it was only his first game back. We finally have depth to spell Aldridge and Camby and I think that will help in the long run.

4) I don't think it will take more than 44 wins to grab the 8th seed. The Grizzlies, Warriors, and Suns aren't good enough to win more.

5) Denver may fall off big time if Melo gets traded. That means the 7th seed may only need to win 45 or 46 games. It won't be like last year when the 8th seed won 50 games.

Just saw a banner ad on here for info about Schizophrenia... Denny, your targeted ad campaign is exceptional. Bravo!

Well, if you can check your Blazer fan glasses at the door, you do get to see some pretty good comedy in the Blazers broadcasts of late. Nothing like watching players being paid millions of dollars for their basketball talents miss 6 to 8 rebound and shot attempts in a row. Unfortunately, the guys doing it were all wearing Blazers uniforms.

No

Roy is not the same player who can dominate the 4th. Bayless was also good in the 4th because he could get to the line

Well, I made a decision early in the year (before the big fall) - that I am not doing the streaming stuff anymore. It's a pain in the rear, quality sucks and I just do not enjoy it as much, even when they were playing well. So, comedy or not, I watch the Blazers when they are on national TV or in person.

Bones is on TNT HD.

I think I'm going to stagger over to the local bar and get shit faced.

You didn't read my post. We dominated, I mean DOMINATED, the last 5 minutes of the 4th quarters against Phoenix, LAC, and NY to start the season. With THESE players. No Bayless. And the Roy you see today. We DOMINATED. If we did it then, we can do it now.

I'm not sure if you are being sarcastic or not, but Bayless would be helping us right now.

Would we be above .500? If so, wouldn't that just be scabbing over the truth, that the core has rotted out of the team?

Mid-draft guards like Bayless are two dimes a dozen: twices as good as a dime a dozen, but still not terribly hard to find. We'll have another undersized SG with more balls than skill soon, I'm sure.

I am a big Bayless fan, actually. But he had some very real limitations and very real lack of consistency.

What did you guys expect? The Wizards have two all-star front court players in Blatche and Yi. Maybe you should have realistic expectations.
