Trail Blazers center Festus Ezeli last month suffered a minor setback in his comeback from a left knee procedure, CSNNW.com has learned.

Ezeli suffered swelling in his left knee after he took part in two Blazers practices on Oct. 17 and Oct. 18, after which the Blazers have pulled back on his activity.

“I practiced, and that’s what happens sometimes – it reacts, swells up, you go back, regress and come back,’’ Ezeli said Tuesday night before the Blazers game with Phoenix.

I heard a rumor that he's been cleared to practice 3 on 3 in the pool. Hold on to your shorts!

No rush......Shaq didn't play the first half of many Laker seasons (his old sore toe excuse) so he'd be able to play in the post season...that's why we signed Ezeli...for the playoffs

Any center who signs here has been forewarned of the Center Hex. Ezeli will become famous as the biggest bust in Blazer history.

We have him for $7M a year with second year as an option. Even if he does not work out, we don't lose much.

But 5 years from now, what will Paul Allen be paying him after falling for the old "A doctor says he's ready for 3-on-3" for 5 preseasons in a row? Then at midseason, the old "He's ready for the pool now." While his fans deny on this board that he broke the springs on his mother's sofa, where he doesn't have League Pass to watch Blazer games.

Bollocks. He was never going to be anywhere near as good as Oden was, he didn't cost us anywhere near as much to acquire, he's not expected to carry us to the Promised Land like Greg was, and his injury isn't anywhere near the same.

Festivus is already better than Greg Oden ever was. He's actually played more than 105 games. :)

This isn't news. This was pretty clear by the fact he wasn't back in early-October as originally indicated. BFD.

I did not see this coming.

/gf

Right before his knee exploded, Oden was clumsy, often out of position, usually pretty damned winded, and he was still rebounding at a historic rate. And his presence on the floor was forcing opponents to make pretty drastic adjustments on both ends of the floor.

I thought it was pretty obvious he had some sort of setback.
