it’s funny because Brown was considered a first rounder for the majority of the year, and was even talked about in the lottery when he committed to Texas. The depth of this class hurt him, same with Brandon Boston and some other guys that fell to the second.

There are plenty of second-rounders who look really good already. The Villanova kid, Robinson-Earl; Herbert Jones; Neemias Queta; Luka Garza; Fez's favorite, Sharife Cooper, and even some undrafted, like McKinley Wright. A lot of good point guards, so of course we didn't go after any of them.

No one off this team aside from Brown is good enough to be on the Blazers roster this season. Several guys looked like they could be roster filler in the first two games, but reality's set in since. You could cut Elleby off of the way he's performed, of course, the odds he'd ever be a rotation guy were slim and none.

I think the summer league played really well. However, at the end of the day, not being able to shoot or rebound really kills any chance of long term success.

Kobi Simmons looked solid.

Brown has pop but simply doesn't know how to play. He's a couple years away. Odd draft pick if you're trying to persuade Dame to stay, but then again, a second rounder isn't going to be what makes or breaks it so you might as well swing for the fences.

One problem with Elleby is that he seems to get down on himself too much. Granted everyone ELSE is down on him, but you should at least believe in yourself.

Bummer that they lost, but fun to see these guys working hard trying to make the team. The only guys that really stood out to me were Brown and Simmons. Simmons seemed to be giving it all on both ends of the court at all times.
