Did Olshey's "sign the vets" strategy for Summer League backfire, given how badly we sucked? Especially after we were "favorites".
Did it also backfire for the vets (especially Faried)? If you're that old and established, you should dominate, and they certainly didn't.

One more sour taste in the mouth in this offseason.

Stats of the teams in Vegas.
We were BOTTOM in free throws attempted and in rebounds.
Elleby ended up with a FG% of 26.5... ugh. But for a comparison, Mac McClung, whom I'm sure we'll hear a lot about because he's the "plucky little white guy" replacement for Caruso on the Lakers, shot 21.5%.

Also: OKC was second worst team by +/- and they actually had a lot of their real players on there. Theo Maledon shot almost as bad as Elleby (sub 30%).

I think Neil had to field a Summer League team so he did. The draft picks show signs of being contributors in a few years. But definitely not this year. I don't see any of the vets making our roster. This was a very unimpressive group IMO. Elleby had some ok moments, mainly as a rebounder, but i thought he looked pretty bad, and had regressed. Not good.

Seeing all these second and third year players play so well in summer league, I don't understand the reasoning in pulling Nas out from SL. What was the downside here? I didn't even see him on the sidelines with his teammates like Ant/Roco/DJ/Norm on the sidelines. Other teams' young guys who sat out for games at least practiced with the team. Why did it look like Little was banished essentially?

Did he suck so bad in training camp that his trade value would have tanked? I highly doubt that, but imagine if he played really well, it would have really helped his value, or given him a ton of confidence to get a legit rotation spot for the season.

I don't get some of this decision making.

Gametime! Will CJ hit some shots? Will the Vets punch it out with each other? Will Our two new guys show they actually don't need many years of seasoning to make a positive impact? Go Blazers! At least we don't have to listen to that Haywood Maroon.

Proof there's no scouting in summer league - CJ pump faked and somebody bit.

After he bricked that layin, i was like C'mon man. But he's off to a nice start with his rebounding & shot making.

Man! That Lamb Guy for the Rockets has a brick laying career in the works.

This is the most team like they've played. Houston sitting Green kills them.

I get it on Brown. Hey, develop him, cause they like his potential. But i doubt he sees any time this year, other than a blowout situation.
