We wouldn't want to add a player with big time playoff experience on this team.
He might take time away from some players that don't have any playoff experience?

Unless he signs a one year deal with Cleveland--which is unlikely--he won't be a UFA next summer. Even if he sits out the entire year, he'll just resume RFA status. We would rather see him be an unrestricted free agent next summer. Even if we have no interest in actually signing him it's another name in the market and may draw interest from teams were competing with to sign other players.
Now do it per million in salary using the contract Davis got from us, and the contract Thompson expects. We REALLY come out ahead then!Per 36 min:
Tristan: 11 pts; 11 reb; 1 block
Davis: 12 pts; 12 reb; 2 block

Some additional comparison stats from 2014-15:
Tristan - PER: 15.6, TO%: 12.2, BLK%: 2.2%, TRB%: 17.2%, USG%: 14.0%
Davis - PER: 20.0, TO%: 9.5, BLK%: 4.3%, TRB%: 18.0%, USG%: 14.8%
The Blazers don't have LeBron James though.
A lot of playoff experience and has played with the best player in the NBA. We'll see if he can get a ring.Yeah, Tristan Thompson. He can rebound,he can guard his man most of the time and he knows how to demand a lot of money.
Did i miss any of his other qualities?
Exactly how does him having played alongside LeBron make him off greater value or more desirable to the Blazers?A lot of playoff experience and has played with the best player in the NBA. We'll see if he can get a ring.
I'm not sure why - I've never even seen him play - but I want to equate Davis to Haslem. A good, no-nonsense PF who knows how the position should be played. Though I suspect that Haslem has (had) a bit more range than Davis does.Davis is a badass.
I can't see how that would work, unless Cleveland wanted to S&T him to said third team, and the Cavs also wanted Kaman for some reason.I'd love it if the Blazers facilitated his move to a third team...
Maybe what Haslem would be if he had a LOT more athleticism. Really not sure who a good comparator would be - Ben Wallace?I'm not sure why - I've never even seen him play - but I want to equate Davis to Haslem. No, he drinks fish and likes it.I hear he drinks like a fish.

To clarify, I'm thinking prime-Haslem. Championship Haslem, and the years immediately preceding. Definitely not current-day Haslem!Maybe what Haslem would be if he had a LOT more athleticism. Really not sure who a good comparator would be - Ben Wallace?
I'm not sure, either - unless the Cavs released. Then it would make perfect sense.I can't see how that would work, unless Cleveland wanted to S&T him to said third team, and the Cavs also wanted Kaman for some reason.
And I suppose I should further clarify that I meant the Wade/Shaq Championship Haslem, not the LBJ/Wade/Bosh Championship Haslem. To clarify, I'm thinking prime-Haslem. Championship Haslem, and the years immediately preceding. Definitely not current-day Haslem!
