"The New York Times story alone, which both reported that Trump declared he had lost a staggering $916 million in 1995 tax forms, and that experts believe that loss could have allowed him to pay no federal income taxes for up to 18 years, fed into three lines of attack that Hillary Clinton had used to needle him in Monday's debate.

One: That his refusal to release his taxes suggested he was concealing something important. Two: That his returns might show his business acumen was overstated. Three: That he paid little or no taxes despite his vast wealth.

And it lent credence to her larger argument that Trump is a heartless scrooge who left a trail of financial destruction on his path to wealth, and who according to the Times even refused to check off a box on his tax form to donate to a veterans' memorial fund.

As if that wasn't enough, Trump has a long history of both bragging about his efforts to avoid paying taxes while shaming others for paying too little."

Now the spin by campaign idiocy is that Trump is a genius for not paying any taxes. I am not pleased
since I pay my taxes which in effect helps the 1%ers to fill the void of their "genius". Go to hell all
you bastards who live by the loopholes that allow such hypocrisy. Genius my ass.
So, it is the 1%ers who dictate how the IRS works for them. In essence we are told to go
fuck ourselves. Then we wonder why we live from paycheck to paycheck!

Turns out he wrote about being "minus $900M in his book, Art of the Deal"...just sayin'

...people can say pretty much anything to help sell a book...false tax with the IRS however, will get you in a lot of trouble. ...just sayin'. :bgrin:

...just as with Hillary's baggage from the past, Trump's faux pas won't completely go away until they are answered/addressed.

no doubt. tough to prove "false" when personal taxes and corporate taxes are so linked in his case. thus the reason he's under continuous audit and yet not in trouble. Don't want to be the Donald defender, but at this point there is still no there there.

Trump can release his returns but other than that there's no bombshell or scandal he has to answer for here. If there was the IRS would've dealt with it a long time ago.

especially Obama's IRS.

...didn't say or imply there was..I was only responding to Tote's "Art of the Deal" reference.

...my point is that;

1. there's a lot of voters who would not be pleased to know that Trump has possibly paid ZERO taxes for the last 20 years.

2. if there's no "bombshell" or if he's not hiding anything, why won't he release his taxes.

3. if Trump truly believes that he was actually "smart" to not have paid taxes, I'd think he would have wanted to release his taxes so everyone could see how "smart" he was.

...I can't imagine anyone who actually believes that it's fair for someone like Trump who claims to be worth so much money and is so successful to escape paying income tax and brags about it while people like us pay 20-30% every year.

Don hasn't so much as paid a dime to feed a Soldier overseas. He's never paid for a wrench, let alone Concussion Helmets, not one highway did he ever pay for, not one penny has he given the Fed. Govt, (say wtf- no Bonds??, that's un-American); not one thing has he ever paid for. A thief leech who's fed on the blood of others his entire life.

...he also scored no points with Vets by saying that in reference to military suicides and PTSD that some Vets "just can't handle it".

...his people predictably claimed that he was "taken out of context"...but regardless, when you get right down to it, a world leader like the POTUS must be able to choose his words wisely...and Trump simply cannot...he just can't help himself.

Pence just reset the race, killed Kaine in the Veep debate.

...^^^

If he won:
Chump is going to have to depend on Totus for every comment he ever makes. Lack of self restraint is never a good attribute.

World Leaders will never take a guy like Chump serious; he's far from Ambassador material, and clearly does not reflect the will of the American People, but neither does the other ass (who's party is represented by an Ass literally).

The U.N. will laugh Chump out of the room, instead of a standing Ovation he thinks he deserves. At least 1/3rd of Congress will be abstinent; during a Chump Prez SOTU Address.

When the bully doesn't get his way; throws a temper tantrum, gets pissed off due to little respect from World Leaders, how safe are those nuke codes....?

...^^^ Incredible article, geezus, there's at least 20 things Chump is 'the very best at', so many things in fact, he can dissolve the WH- Cabinet in its entirety. Then, start in on replacing Congress, since he's the best at every thing. Last stop, the final march to Mein Kampf's completion ... Or- in Brits eye's- Donald Does Narnia...and plays every character/part...

Pence just reset the race, killed Kaine in the Veep debate.

...wait, he "killed" Kaine?...according to who?.......and he "reset the race"?...again, according to who.

...the polls I've seen gave Pence a slight edge. Pence may have given people who were already Trump supporters a brief lift of spirits after experiencing a sinking feeling over the last week or two, but that's it...sorry, but this VP debate is not enough to turn the tide of the POTUS campaign.

...hell, Pence wouldn't even back Trump when given opportunities...seems to me that Pence is more interested in setting himself up for 2020.

Kaine made the debate unwatchable with the ridiculous interrupting. He actually managed to make Trump look tame in that regard. From the counts that are out this morning he interrupted Pence 70 times during the debate.
